In Episode 15 of Car Chats, we review Gregory Coles' book: Single, Gay, Christian. Even though we disagree with Greg about same-sex relationships (we are affirming of them and he is not), we learned a lot from his story and appreciated his posture of grace and humility.

I love this book and I’m loving your channel. (Love that NF hoodie btw). Thanks for this interaction with his book from each of your perspectives.

I really appreciate how you say that not all sacrifice is good - just because something is being sacrificed. That maybe God is not always looking for the next thing He can change about us. That really poisons any relationship - even one with God. I read (listened to) this book this week. My heart breaks for Gregory. You can just feel his loneliness - especially at the end. I wish him all the happiness, whatever his path. Makes one wonder what is in Jesus' heart...as He looks down on all of us - all believing such different things about Him.

Thanks for sharing your insights! We completely agree that it's important to find the balance in loving ourselves while also allowing ourselves to be challenged and grow!

As a celibate gay Christian, it's not for everyone. I'm mid fifties and I see celibacy as a difficult lonely journey. As a pastor as well, I find being alone and without a partner I found pastoring more difficult as time went on. I didn't have that partner who I could vent to. As a result stress built on stress and eventually I had to leave my congregation to preserve my health.

I recommend you both listen to Rosaria Butterfield about being a lesbian.

No one should listen to Rosaria Butterfield. She never was a lesbian. She "became" when was a radical feminist. She holds a disgusting ideology that supports conversion therapy. NO ONE listen to that woman. You DO NOT become LGBT. Sexuality can be fluid for some people but even those who do believe sexuality can be fluid wholeheartedly believe you CANNOT change your orientation through prayer or any other nonsense. Your orientation is your what it is and cannot change.
