Becket is spot on. He has the wisdom of speaking from experience and then being moved to treasure His Savior more than anything else. This is the way for all sinners, regardless of the nature of their sins. Prayers for all to act lovingly and for gay folks to encounter the Lord and find the kind of church Becket did. No sinner should have to go it alone.

It makes no sense that we would judge the world when it hasn’t been called to (nor can it) walk in alignment with Gods Word. The world is gonna “be the world” and we as believers need to “be like Christ” who loved the sinner right into the Kingdom. The only people Jesus came down hard on were the religious people. If we’re gonna be “hard” on someone, let it be the church: the ones who claim to know and follow God. (I’m preaching to myself right now)!

Wow, great video! I was born again in 1988. In the early 90s I heard the awesome worship music of Dennis Jernigan, which stoked in me a deep desire to know & follow Jesus. Jernigan was set free from homosexuality yet struggled with it as a Christian. Until this video, he's the only voice I've heard saying it's not sin to have homosexual thoughts, the sin is _acting upon_ those thoughts. Jernigan's music & ministry is strong on deliverance through rejecting lies, believing truth, and living in love with Jesus. He's long been happily married, has nine kids & God has used him greatly in ministry to homosexuals. My issue is addiction. I've been clean & sober for a long time, yet still sometimes want to drink or use. Desiring drugs or alcohol is not sin, acting out that desire is, and it will likely destroy me. Thanks for encouraging me to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow Jesus. Here's a link to Dennis Jernigan's testimony in case you're interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/foDRhXyhn9yYbNk

"John 7:24 KJVS [24] Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. The Bible says when we judge ourselves and our neighbors our judgment must be in righteousness. Not what I heard from someone else about that person or what I think, but rather moral truth. " Therefore you could righteously judge a pride event by saying it is sinful and against God. Before everyone goes crazy I have considered myself gay since I was teen and recently came to Christ myself, and still struggle with SSA, but what I'm getting at is that what he said here is a misunderstood Bible verse about judging.

1:38 "It’s just like a heterosexual man who is married to a woman attracted to another woman and denies that…” I would go further than that. Jesus says that if a man even looks at a woman lustfully, he commits adultery. Some might be tempted to pass judgement toward homosexuals and believe themselves to be above them because they never outwardly cheated on their wife. However, it seems like even seeing a simply sexy photo in a magazine or on tv (and mentally processing that for even a second in a lustful way) has already crossed that line Jesus has spoken of. The verse about removing the plank from our eye is probably more applicable in ways we do not even think of.

Instead, we should follow Jesus who gave us his new commandment and invites us to a life of love. As the Bible says, "all God's commands are satisfied by 'love your neighbour'". I see the same thing concerning sexual immorality, and pornography, the devil will tempt you 24/7, and your brain will recall everything you've ever looked at that tempted you in the past, hoping to draw you back in. Whether or not you act upon it, determines whether it remains a temptation or gets promoted to actual sin. God's Word says to pray often for the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We can't fight these things from our own strength, I've learned that the hard way. You try to fight your temptations on your own, you'll be writing those, "Dear God, I'm sorry..." letters in your head, until it becomes, "Dear God, I'm sorry that I'm sorry again..."

You’re either a true Believer/Christian (who may/may not struggle with same-sex attraction - though God can/will deliver you from the attraction as well if you want Him to) OR you consider yourself a homosexual (identify as). The Bible says that if you resist the devil, he will flee from you. If you keep resisting those feelings/desires/attractions, they will eventually leave you - you will no longer struggle with them.

Giving that desire up and dying to the flesh isn’t what saves you though. Just need to make sure people know that. We give up sin because we love Christ and because we WANT to please Him and because the Holy Spirit helps a believer turn from sin. But it’s important to know that we still struggle with put flesh until the day we die...and Jesus paid for ALL the sin of the WHOLE WORLD. Past, present and future. We can’t add to His all sufficient blood by repenting of sin. He paid it ALL. We turn from sin because we are saved, not to be saved.

A Christian man who lives in England has homosexual desires, & pastors a church. Many "gay" men & women have come to Jesus Christ to believe per John chapter 3, & have testified that God took away their "same sex" desires, ~He healed them~ & many of them married & are raising children, & in general serve God. But no one down here can "put God in a box", telling Him how to be God ! HE DECIDES how to deal with his children, & to help them, & to use them for his glory, & to build his kingdom. HE KNOWS WHAT WE NEED & WHAT IS GOOD FOR US. The man i mentioned above must "fight th good fight of faith" & keep himself in Holy Spirit control, and he serves God. God never took away his "same sex desires", so what else can he do ? HE NEVER TOLD US IT WOULD BE EASY OR PAINLESS to be commited to Him.

The big thing about the new birth is that God changes our desires by us seeing His death as our death and His resurrection as ours, which is how we become new creations by faith .That’s what dying to ourselves ‘ means. Our old self is crucified with Christ.The greater our revelation of this fact is ,the greater our experiential freedom from the old sinful nature will be and the greater part of that transformation is in the thought life which is where the seeds of our behaviour germinate. As His word works in us He transforms us at heart level which affects us at thought level which causes a difference in our behaviour .Word>heart>thoughts>behaviour (Romans 7 & 8) The letter kills but the Spirit brings life 🙏

Well, if that's something "salvation" requires, then precisely zero gay people have ever been "saved." Adults experiencing changes in their sexual orientation is just not something that happens. Anyone can change how they live and even exert a great deal of discipline into suppressing unwanted fantasies, but changing what one finds attractive is just not an event that occurs. If it were doable, there would be zero gay people. Anyhow, this is a weird standard to expect just from the gays. Do you expect that "repentant alcoholics" to completely lose any ability to enjoy or want alcohol? Do you expect "repentant adulterers" to lose attraction to everyone but their spouse? Why are only gay people expected to lose even the ability to be tempted?

Because they try to say the word homosexuality was not a word when the bible was written, what part of man lying with a man as with a woman is hard to understand.To live in a sin on purpose is to not have another forgiveness.

Lying with a male "as one beds a woman" meant a male taking a woman's role in the act. It meant being secsually penetrated. In a patriarchal culture, it was seen as feminizing and therefore degrading, since women were considered inferior to men. It's not just the word that wasn't around, it's the concept of lying with "the same secs", artificially classifying men who like men and women who like women into one category. The Bible never speaks of the latter, only the former, and it's never said to be wrong because it's "the same secs".

Yeah I get it, just like a hetero must be celibate. But this also applies to "thoughts." You can't lust after man/woman regardless of what you are attracted to

Right. I believe it's said that even the thought of adultery is a sin. The issues comes from the heart. That's why we all fall short regardless of what we do. And that's why we all need to accept Jesus as our Savior.

There is alot to unpack here😅 But to begin with....If you hear or see someone calls a sexual orientation a "lifestyle" ...that's a big red flag..which should tell you to ask the person more about it and what they actual mean....God bless xoxo

Wow I’m always amazed when ppl turn and twisted Gods words and find many saying O yes praise the Lord, Sounds good, but not knowing what truly the Bible says about it. You say we are to LOVE and NOT JUDGE? But yet on other videos you say we are to tell ppl in love that doing homosexual acts are a sin and in love tell them there’s a better way. Yes this is true but don’t twist things telling anyone to turn from SIN it’s making a JUDGMENT CALL. Why are we all so hung up on making a JUDGMENT call is a bad thing??? It’s more a wise and LOVING THING!

It's all about reconciliation , which requires repentance . No repentance , how then can it be reconciled . It cannot ! It's very simple . If I were a murderer , hey just orientated that way , I would have to repent , it's different ? No I had a unhealthy lust for women, I had to repent of that . Yes I was orientated that way , society, sexuality is over emphathized . The carnal things , the indulgenceses of the flesh ! The old man . We are made a new creature in Christ, through His blood ! I couldn't overcome these things on my own . Powers , principalities , rulers of the darkness of this world , spiritual wickedness in high places . That's what I tryed taking on myself . Doesn't work ! The devil gets,a foothold, he is a formidable adversary . Even when Michael the ark Angel confronted him , he stated God rebuke you ! He set a goid example for us !

Real sins are behaviours that harm people. An adulterer (someone who cheats on their partner) hurts their partner. Robbery, rape, sexual abuse, murder aren't just sins but are recognised as crimes and involve a perpetrator and a victim(s). But homosexuality has no perpetrator or victim. In fact its just people living no differently to the way heterosexuals live. Falling in love, having sex, working, building lives together. What's shocking is its not just child or serial killers, in fact even mass murderers can enter the Christian heaven after repenting, whilst innocent homosexuals who've never killed anyone or committed any crime are kept out. This is some twisted and perverted rule made by this Christian God.

Hello sir. Is it not interesting how in many churches that same sex attraction is considered so taboo that it cannot be even thought about, but opposite sex attractions is glossed over. The idea that sexual attraction to opposite sex in the church is ok, but is misguided. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28.

God said "it is not good for the human being to be alone". Why are you contradicting God? In case you haven't heard, you can't "pray away the gay". Thousands tried and none changed. Maybe God cares more about how you treat people than their secs orientation.

Your analogy of the man with a wife who is attracted to another woman does not apply. He has a a wife. He is not condemned to a life of loneliness like a gay man. I think you have missed the primary concern for gays and your arguments are very weak.

I think he's talking about when one is saved. When one has a relationship with God, he seeks that, he seeks Him, more than his attraction.
@ayp5177

I think in fact he is implying already the primary concern for the lgbt+. Because it is in the fact that God reaches out to you, that you deny yourself and follow Him. It's no longer condemnation, it's grace. He does it, we become His child, we have a new identity in Him.

To say that the church treated homosexuality as it did not exist is an understatement. From what I understood, the church had been very hostile on this, to say the least. But to hear this today is interesting to me. My two cents...
@ayp5177
@ayp5177 3 жыл бұрын
I think it's often that they don't really talk about it straightforwardly/in-depth in the congregation. It's often hidden. But there are people from the church who go out and kind of voice their say on it, which I think is very unwise... It needs to be talked more in the church, because it's dealing is too hostile now, needs to be brought more in light :)

^^is what I think he's saying. Especially when a lot of homosexuals want to know more about God. But because they're afraid of judgement, they don't really get to know the other side of the opposition

@@ayp5177 I agree with you. I really need to speak my piece of mind because I do have a son who is gay and a daughter who is a lesbian. I would be appalled IF people who are supposed to be fellow Christians, would judge them and their souls, as if they are Jesus Christ himself...
