Please like so Kelsey can see! Mood swings on their own aren’t enough to kill a sim, to my knowledge. Wesley died because he was aged up to young adult while having a mood swing. If a teen is feeling enraged or mortified, don’t age them up until it’s gone. Otherwise there’s a higher chance they’ll die of rage or mortification after aging up. Sims can also die of hysteria, although that doesn’t come from mood swings. Also, RIP Wesley. :((

My sim's son came home from school the same way and I aged him up and while trying to get the mom pregnant before I moved him and his twin out (I really REALLY didn't want twins) and he died the same way Wesley did. Thank god I had a save 10 mins before and my game crashed so I lost the save with his death 🥴🥴 I didn't think anything about aging him up when he was having a mood swing

I always send my teenage Sims to go "Jog to clear mind" whenever they come home with whatever negative moodlets. It always works, and goes away pretty fast. Plus, they get to increase their fitness skill while doing that, it's a win win! Do that to prevent any unfortunate events!

There is a setting to "ask to be just friends", the love bar won't exist anymore so if you want to keep Jace around he won't get mad or jealous! And you will still keep your friend relationship (i think) without losing any friendship. Plus you can rekindle the relationship down the road if you want!
