Jaw tooth, hey I'm a retired law enforcement supervisor (31+ years) and I thought I'd help clarify the "runner" you mention often in videos. RR crossing violations were one of my favorite things to look for during my career. For the violation to be citable two things have to be in place. 1) the red lights have to be on (or cross bucks at tracks without lights) and the horn on the train has to be sounded. When both occur then you can cite the driver. I didn't work in Ohio but I can look up the law for you and share the exact wording of the general statute if you wish. My grandfather worked 40 years beginning with Nickel Plate RR and retired from Norfolk Southern after the merger FYI. Love the channel and I thought I'd share the law enforcement side of the RR crossing violation for you to help make it clearer. Keep the videos coming and I look forward to the next one.
@JawTooth3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the information! That would be interesting to see how it is worded. I should have known that there would be verbiage for the violation since I used to work 20 years as a health inspector and we had a lot of rules and regulations to know. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Good thing all of the trains kept moving at a decent speed or Lockland would be known as Landlocked. Some trade Publications indicated UP road trains were increasing in length from 1.6 to 1.8 miles in length over the past year but CSX and NS are certainly giving them a run for the money. Besides the former Boston and Maine car one of the cars carrying the aluminum ingots is from Illinois Central Gulf still in Orange. Super duper what a trooper

I counted 348 containers at the train starting to pass by at 21:35 - what service COSCO's 20.000 container ships for instance make for international transportation. (In a way indispensable too.) Just one such ship equaling almost 58 of such trains! (And with all sorts of economies of scale too, better equipped, state of the art workplaces, specific costs for fuels as well as green tec, reduced footprint, etc..)(Someone from inside the US or of the world market should throw in an unsolicited application for todays best replacement proposal for GE's AC6000CW? (1)) (Maybe a battery hybrid one? The battery rucksacked in a tenderunit behind the locomotives? Recharging downhill, providing extra force uphill of course, your area seems to be about perfect for such application.) 1 - The AC6000CW is a 6,000-horsepower (4,500 kW) diesel electric locomotive built between 1995 and 2001 by GE Transportation. ('Dear Mr. President, no engine is left behind forever' - I am sorry but that's what came to my mind.)

Jaw Tooth I looked up the Ohio law for you for stopping at RR crossing. Just like NC, Ohio is the exact same. The Ohio general statute for RR crossing is 4511.62. You can look it up if you wish. Lights have to be on, crossing arms down and the train is emitting its horn. Unless all those things are in place, its not a motor vehicle violation. Doesn't make it smart, but it's not against the law. Hope this helps. Shawn

Read at your leisure. TILX pressurized tank cars are primarily used to transport liquefied compressed gases and other hazardous materials that require containment under pressure12. These tank cars are designed to safely handle materials such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), anhydrous ammonia, and chlorine1. The pressurization helps to maintain the stability and safety of these volatile substances during transportation.
