As a former GA pilot, I truly enjoy watching some of the basics and as a former resident of SD and frequent runner along Carlsbad Blvd, I'm very familiar with the area. After I left the Navy, I lost my ability to continue flying following a m/c accident which left me a paraplegic/double amputee. These videos are my only way to live my former life vicariously. Maybe your company can come up with a solution for those of us who still long for the clear, blue skies. No one else has which sure is frustrating for aviation buffs. Safe flying sir, and thank you for your service too!

by 1986 I had my commercial license and Instrument rating but me and my family just rented a plane to go some where> We lied in Houston at the time. The greatest thing wasto rent a plane and fly over Houston at night during Christmas to see all the lights. When Texaco was bought out by Chevron I had to start over and I never the the old Income level to continue renting a plane. I would need some training to get back to my top level. Would never try to fly solo or with family now without the necessary instrument level.

He was a Navy fighter Pilot and has lots of hours flying solo. Flying solo after lots of flights with a trainer makes u very aware of instrument usage. A terminology :Flying by the seat of your pants is flying by your senses and not by the instruments. You can have the feeling that you are flying straight and level even when their is great visibility and that is dangerous. Flying by the seat of your pants is never good flying at night.

Served in Long island, Clark, Ubon, Selfridge, and retired at MAC headquarters when MAC was at Scott in Illinois. Never realized how much I miss living on those bases from my childhood. We stayed stateside while he served in Ubon, no family quarters for enlisted.

Not sure why youtube recommended this video but it was great. I used to have a fuel-guzzling Lockheed JetStar. I last flew in 77. It did not have all these fancy glass computers. I would be lost in this aircraft. I used a Jepson circular slide rule and a bag full of charts to calculate heading based on wind dirextions and speed. VOR TACAN was available and installed two years after the last flight. Finaly sold the thing to some Rancher in TX. But it was great to see how its done these days. Very cool. I think I will subscribe.

That’s a special life you have. I have none of that. I’m ill and live in the worlds most soulless place near London. I can’t work and so it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever get a pilots license. I had a flying lesson in a Cessna at RAF Henlow 20 years ago before I lost my whole family and life. It was stunning. What a way to travel. I’m not envious. I only mention about my life hoping that you know how great a life you’ve got. Well deserved too. It’s brilliant what people can have these days. I even get into my car in the mornings wondering how the hell our species have designed such things. It’s genius far behind my understanding. I do love these pilot uploads. The Lufthansa ones are great. Nostradamus got it about right. That’s almost an official waffle.

Excellent flight. Brought back a lot of memories of my single pilot jet flying. Of course that was many years ago... T-37,T-38, F-5, T-33, F-102, F-101, F-106, for the most part (back seater was a WSO) F-4D and RF-4C, then civilian T-33, F-86, FJ4B, A-4C, A-4L, then contract test pilot F/A-18, A-7, F-4, T-38, F-14, and a lot of other airplanes. Here's a strange story: When interviewed by United Airlines in 1978, ALPA was questioning taking the F/E (Second Officer) OUT of the 737-200 (ALPA insisted on 3 pilots in every cockpit) and they asked me how I would feel about flying with TWO pilots in the cockpit. I thought they meant, 'as opposed to only ONE pilot' as I had been doing for many years! I said, "Yeah, it would be nice to have another guy to talk on the radio, navigate, and raise and lower the gear". [I retired in 2006, Boeing 747-400 Captain, flying mostly LAX-SYD. Good gig!]

As someone who is interested in aviation, but otherwise having extensive experience in I.T., I highly applaud your outstanding video production! From an outsiders perspective with VERY limited flight knowledge (former Navy OS, avid Flight Sim user - lol), this video by-proxy fulfills a bit of insight into that process, that professionalism. I honestly don't know how you can do it all...the level of flight skill/knowledge, and then this level of video production skills. I'm actually very impressed with the multi-cam, wide-PTZ effects...~it's all there. Just wow - outstanding job on all of this! You set the bar very high for sure and deserve honest recognition.

HI Greg, congratulations on your flying career and thanks for your USAF service. A superb capture of your flight back home to Dallas. What a beautiful modern Beechcraft you have. My Dad, winged at 22 years old, was an AAC pilot; flew B-25s in the Pacific Theater from Wheeler AAF, Oahu. His first long range raid was to Wake Island; 18 hours with refueling, on the target, and back to Wheeler. And a P-51D and F-86 pilot in the Korean War; he retired in 1967 as a LTCOL and passed away in 1970 primarily due to the alcohol and smoking habits most of the pilots had back in those days. I flew the CH-46E in the Marine Corps for 25 years and also retired as a LTCOL. As I look back I still can't fathom flying that old Vietnam bullet holed beast CH-46E for 25 years. LOL. At any rate, safe flying and blessings to you and your family. Semper Fi, Goat

You can get mounts that have a motorized panning feature, normally they come with a small remote control. At 2:06 you can see the mount pretty well and it looks like that is what he has.
