I’ve been a GA pilot since 2003, and it still surprises me just how many switches there are to go over on the checklist, on this relatively “simple”aircraft. The engines add a few temps to monitor.

You won’t be able to stand straight in the cabin but once in the cockpit you should be able to adjust the seat and peddles as needed.

@gigig2345 Жыл бұрын
@@BaronPilot always afraid =)
@BaronPilot Жыл бұрын
Fear of flying tends to be caused either a fear of the unknown or a lack of being in control. Unknown is easy as taking a little time to understand how airplanes fly and the redundancy and safety measures that are implemented can help tremendously. Control issue can be a little tougher.

So why the odd names for the wave points like captn1 and is there a physical location for it or is it a random made up can you explain this ?
@almach6279 Жыл бұрын
[note: not a pilot, so I might be wrong on some (or all) of this] Each 5-letter waypoint corresponds to specific geographical coordinates. There's probably nothing of interest on the ground at most of them, but they make navigating airspace easier and more consistent--especially around busy airports. In the USA, many resemble words and names, or are just a combination of letters that's possible to pronounce... sometimes with creative spelling
@Bill_N_ATX Жыл бұрын
There are actually a number of rules on how waypoints are abbreviated down to five characters. From a simple first rule to use the real name of the geographical location if it’s less that five characters, and then how to abbreviate it if need be, and how to deal with duplicates etc. You also have novelty names near certain places. For instance near Disney World, you have spots with cartoon character names. Near my home in Austin Texas, you have western themed names like LGHRN for longhorn and TRVSS for Travis for the name of the county. there is a LBSTA or lobster waypoint in Massachusetts. since there are so many waypoints required, some are just randomly assigned. Finally, although unique names would be optimal, it’s really not possible so as long as there is enough separation so that no one is confused, they can be repeated.

Lumpy tyre on taxi often happens when the aircraft is cold and hasn’t flown that day yet. The tyre gets a bit of a flat spot on it until it warms up on taxi. Not sure this would happen on a Lear though? More of a thing on larger aircraft with bigger wheels I think

Higher is also more stress on the fuselage because of the pressure difference, so shortens life expectancy of the aircraft
