I live in Austin arkansas. I fish conway quite a bit. you think the crappie are big, the bass eat those as a snack. lol. grandpa caught 1 weighing 13.1 pounds.

Fished there many times and pulled many slabs from Conway and love to watch Krappie Kings BUT you missed an opportunity as Mike's should have cooked a CRAPPIE instead of a grouper. The show is about CRAPPIE, sorry KRAPPIE.

That's illegal to do. Reelfoot used to be the only place to buy crappie on a commercial level but that's no longer allowed, IIRC.

I lived on the lake right by the boat ramp with the little boat slip lagoon and break waters there. We also had our own little boat house on the bank near the ramp. Went to UCA at the time. That was by far the best damn lake I ever fished...back then. There were waaaaaaaay more dead trees sticking out of the water and had to use boat trails to get around the lake but damn the fishin' was awesome! 3 lb crappie, 3 lb white bass, 12 lb largemouth and 70 lb flathead cats could be had and huge bream, too. I sho do miss those days, which was back in 1980 and 81. The lake looks nothing like it used to, now but I bet there's still some good fishin' to be had.

Danny, things in life change as do lakes. Lake Conway still produces mega slab crappie I am told and we certainly enjoyed our times visited and the great community of Conway.

We agree, that was a lot of fun. I watched an old black woman fishing right out from the lagoon in the boat trail corner catch a 12 lb bass on a minnow and cane pole, one day. Dang, she made me jealous.
