My Awl
I can’t live without my sharp stabby tool as I call it, used for making holes for my snaps. Many Kam snap kits come with one if not any leather awl will do the job.
From Amazon -
Large Squizzors - These are listed as aquarium precision pinch action scissors.
Small squizzors - These are listed a pinch action scissors
You will have to a search for them on Amazon in your own country.
Stabilizers
Stabilizers the three that I use for my stitch outs are Brothread wash away, Brothread cut away and Brothread invisible mesh.
I don't use tear away except for planning out my fabrics in a crazy patch project, as it tends to fail when there is satin stitching in the design.

So crazy quilts are far from erratic. These one-of-a-kind treasures are intentional statements reflecting a turning point in history. I do love the crazy patch design from KK another one to add to my ever growing to do list 🙊😂

Patchwork was used by the early Egyptians for clothing and decorating their homes. It was also noted that Emperor Liu Yu of the Lui Song Dynasty in China used patchwork for decorating. Patchwork was a way of domestic economy to use up scraps of fabric. It was then added to quilting for warmth and protection. How often have you seen a piece of beautiful fabric and thought what can I do with that? .It's not enough to make an item! So many patterns leave excess pieces, patchwork is a fabulous way of using those leftover scraps. Thank you Kreative Kiwi for the interesting patterns you produce. Recycling, repurposing beautiful bits of fabric into everyday usable items saving landfill. Thank you 🙂

It is my understanding that crazy quilting was originally done by the ladies in the household, with bits of silk, ribbon, and satin. It is really a shame that these fabrics were used, because many weren't durable enough to last, and much of the hand work was lost to rotting and fading. I loved playing with hand embroidery as a young girl in tn50s and 60s. I have a great appreciation for all that hard work, but I must confess I love being able to recreate the ideas those ladies so painstakingly made over 150 years ago on my machine! Loved this video, and the idea of same color thread throughout really appeals to me!

I still have a hand sewn crazy patch piece made by my great great grandmother. I love that you have so many crazy patch pieces. I purchased the original Hobo bag and tried to make it work with my 6x10 hoop. So happy there is a version I can use.

💜 Crazy patch was often done with silks, satins, and velvets. These fabrics would have needed a muslin-type fabric as a foundation especially with all the bias edge seams. Crazy patch was also done with felted wool from wool clothing. Raw edges would have been ideal with wool. Felted wool could be quite an interesting fabric choice for this bag🤔😉

Quilts have been used as currency. Thank you for this design. I was also disappointed that the previous design didn't work with the 6 x 10 hoop. Is it possible to merge some of these hoopings for the 6x10 hoop? Lovely work 👏

Where did you get your magnetic embroidery hoop? I have looked but can't find them, they look so good and easy to use. I love this bag design. Oh goodness!! I have found the frame and saw the price. I won't be getting any of them!! I am sure they are well worth the money but well outside my affordability range!

Publications targeting female audiences promoted Crazy quilts as artistic home decoration for roughly only a decade. Yet Crazy patchwork fascinated needlewomen, who continued to adapt and evolve the style through the mid-twentieth century.

There are no fixed rules. Crazy Patch Patchwork gives one the freedom to design and stitch as you go, using up scraps and small pieces of fabric which normally would be disposed of. The end result, something magical and fun.

I always thought crazy quilting started out of necessity: women took whatever scraps they had to patch worn out items. It later developed into the planned, intricate style we know today. Wealthier women had the time to spend on ornate embroidery and had the more expensive silk and velvet fabrics.

@@carolscott9330 Hi first off re-download the files they have been updated. I take it you haven’t opened the files in any software before loading them into your machine? If you have unzip a fresh set of files, load the stitch files directly onto your USB key without opening any of them in software, as this can cause many problems. I you still have a problem contact Kreative Kiwi Embroidery, their email address is in the instructions. I hope this helps.
