Hi Becca, This video really spoke to me. You see, I have been struggling in a certain area of my life, where I believe God told me that something specific was supposed to happen and it hasn’t happened (yet). In fact, it seems that the circumstances in my life directly contradict what God told me would happen. It does get frustrating. It reminds me a lot of Abraham and Sarah. God told them they would have a son, Isaac, but they didn’t believe because they were already old, and Sarah was beyond child-bearing age. Their circumstances directly conflicted with what God had told them. I understand why they tried to “help” God by having Abraham lie with their maidservant. I don’t condone it because it showed a lack of trust in God. However, I understand why. They just couldn’t see it. Though my situation is not related to child-bearing, I still find myself at odds with two different realities: What God told me, and my circumstances that seem to directly conflict with what God told me. This situation has been showing me that faith is a choice. I admit, that it had gotten really hard. I had become resentful towards God and this situation. I was hurting so much. I just wanted to forget it and move on. But, I didn't know how to move on. I didn't know how to let go of the resentment. Nor did I know how to let go of the resentment without letting go of hope at the same time. I finally realized that my attitude needed to change. God used that realization to open my eyes to see that I had been acting like a petulant child, so immature. Stomping my feet, crossing my arms, yelling and shouting, like a little kid not getting their way. It's embarrassing, really. Anyway, none of it worked, obviously. So, when God opened my eyes to let me see my own immaturity, I also realized I was not truly trusting in Him. I would place "conditions" on how this thing should happen and when. Especially when. But, I've FINALLY realized, I NEED to trust God with this, completely. Even if things aren't going the way I want them to, or the way I thought they would, or should. Furthermore, when God opened my eyes to my immaturity, I've also realized there are many areas where I still need work, like patience and selflessness as well as other areas where I lack. I thought I was already ready for what He was bringing me. But, now I see, I'm not. It's ironic; when I was acting like a petulant child, I thought I was ready. When in fact, the very fact that I was being so immature is proof that I wasn't ready. The point of all this is, I am glad that God showed me how embarrassingly immature my attitude was. It made me realize I wasn't as ready as I thought I was. Additionally, it made me realize that I need to trust in Him, trust that He knows exactly what He's doing, and that He's doing things in His perfect timing. Even if it's not the timing I'd like, I need to trust that His timing is better than mine.

Heard one pastor say that when single there were things to do for God and opportunities to witness that wasn't as available and essy to do once in a relationship. So he said serve God in singleness with what you can do and when in a relationship there were other different ways to serve God. The devil can get us discouraged about these seasons of singleness and loneliness though. Especially when these seasons are so long and seem that things will never change. I have never had a gf, but I am just praying to find the right one one day and have children and actually be a good dad to them and be there for them. I didn't have a dad that did that, so I just wanna be there for my children and be a godly dad for if and when i do have children. Good video and godly advice.

YES! YES! YES! "not a waiting period, its a preparation period". For a long time I had the waiting mindset, and its so hard to not flip flop in your trust when you waiting because you're emotionally sitting there and you grow anxious. Once I realized what I was supposed to be doing when I am single, like growing in my faith and becoming more like Jesus, I understood why God asks us to "wait". Because we are yet the Godly ladies or Godly men that we need to be for our spouses. So this is fantastic! Wonderfull said!!!!

I love your videos!! They are so authentic and pure. So inspirational. The world makes it seem like we have to be in a relationship. I have so much love to give and want to share that with someone. I have prayed for God to send the right guy to me at the right time and pray for patience. I thought it was a great idea to do random acts of kindness for friends. I think I am going to try that!! Completely agree! I love the quote “would you marry yourself?” It keeps things in perspective because as a single girl we should definitely be preparing our hearts and minds, spending as much time with God as possible and not to ask God for a future spouse but to have that strong relationship with God allowing him to fill any emptiness in our hearts. I have been told time and time again that as we work in our “fields” and keep our eyes on the Lord he will send that person to us when he sees fit and when he knows we are ready. Not when we convince ourselves we’re ready.

Best video on singleness and relationship advice out there!! I really needed to see this (all other "singleness" videos just rant) My youth group is small (4 girls, 5-6 boys) And for some reason I'm really drawn to one of them (who I only talked to once and had a good conversation) ... Ive been waiting for sunday so I can talk to him again. But this helped me to put my relationship with Jesus first on the list instead of hoping to get a guy through...I love Jesus more and more everyday and I wish people would all realize He is the closest companion you'll ever had... Oh how I loved & needed this! I really struggle with the feeling of ending up alone and singleness. I've made such mistakes in the areas of dating because instead of trusting God to bring my future husband into my life in his timing, I took things into my own hands. It's hard when you're in wedding after wedding, and wondering if you'll ever have your own wedding, ya know? I'm only 21 and I know I have time, but its still difficult. Thank you for the message. It made me think of my group of friends. They don't usually speak conversations that I think are good , but they are my friends. I remember just leaving them one day because of what they were talking about (it was kinda negative but mainly the bros). Now I know that if I am a true friend to all of them, I can't just walk out. I know Jesus wouldn't do that to his friends. I should tell them how I feel (in a way that is humble and kind) and lead them in the right way and encourage them in what is right like Jesus would. I think of them and the future. I can't leave them to keep walking the wrong path. I want to show them the right path and share the truth so they may grow Strong and Confident. I want to be a true friend and a true brother. Please pray for me in this. That God helps me to be a good and true friend. Thank you

This is a very wise way to look at it :) Sometimes it can be tough, but life is all about perspective. And if you can look at it as a way of not only allowing God to prepare you for your future spouse, and make you the best partner that you can be. But also looking at it as a time to grow into the person that YOU want to be apart from a relationship- and create a solid, seperate foundation that will only bring more stability when combined with another person. You get to really figure out who you are and what you're all about and that is an awesome journey to be on.

If that happens to be the case for anyone who reads this, let God be your soulmate. Maybe you come closest to God when you are single, therefore, it's better for you to remain single.

+Raskiz H Thanks so much! I definitely think that no matter what it is in our lives, we can pray that we let His will be done in the situation. I think instead of praying for your future spouse to come into your life, pray that God would help you to trust Him with the plans He has for you, and that you would let His will be done. That helps to take the focus off of us and what we want, and focus on what God has planned for us instead. Pray that God would help us to trust Him and His plans rather than ask for what we want. God knows what we want AND need before we even ask Him, but He asks us to trust Him with everything. I hope this helps!! God bless!
