I disagree with everything that happens to you is your fault especially telling a child that! Imagine telling a child that and then they get molested. Imagine being at work a customer lies on you and you get fired. Imagine a woman lying in a man saying she got r@ped and he didn't touch her that's not his fault! Imagine a woman turning down a guy advances and he attacks her it's not her fault! It's not wise telling a child that.

Wait! I grew up with my dad. And heard some of the same messaging from him. But quite frankly my dad needed therapy. It is unreasonable to suggest that everything that happens to you, is your fault. That is suggesting that you actually have control over everything around you. And you simply don't. Sometimes people lie. Sometimes things are out of your control. Sometimes things are just fucked up. Sometimes the other person is far better at playing a game then you are. And no, of course that's not your fault. Moving forward you'll know better. But you can only use hindsight as a perspective for the future. The idea of everything being your fault is the reason why I'm sure that all black people need therapy. This thought process is a reminder of that. It reminds us that we are still seeking power even of Our Own thoughts and self-awareness awareness. Accountability is not saying everything is my fault. Accountability is acknowledging that I don't have power over everything nor do I perceive everything is my fault. It's neither my fault nor is it my personal responsibility. It just is. And it's also important for me to let go of the things that don't serve me. It's my fault when I don't grow from it but things that I don't know, can't possibly be my fault. That's like blaming an infant for not knowing how to walk.

I just made a comment regarding that statement. It's a ridiculous one!
@Knaivyisaging15
@Knaivyisaging15 Жыл бұрын
I think you actually miss the point of the statement. It’s not to be taken literally, it’s just a reminder of accountability. It’s the opposite of a victim mindset. Instead of crying over why a person did you wrong, it’s better to focus on why you let them do you wrong. As in why you tolerated certain things. That is what gets to the root of the issue and thus leads to self improvement, self awareness, more self worth etc.
@Msjanikki
@Msjanikki Жыл бұрын
With respect to your perspective, I disagree that I got the statement wrong. I think this is how that statement is most often interpreted. And I certainly agree with your interpretation. But that's not how it is most often, interpreted.

@@mezxth00935I do agree. It is viewed differently for women vs men. Excess weight actually manifests more problems in men. Diabetes and HBP meds causing ED and Heart disease is taking young black men out! Yet for women it’s usually a vanity stigma and they apply character based assumptions like she lacks discipline, self esteem/self worth where as for men they don’t.

Dr. Mike is right. Women showing up to see a man but could be potentially stranded because they don’t have enough gas to get home, is weird!! This is very telling of her priorities and maturity. Is she self sufficient enough to date? Maybe she should be picking up a shift at work instead of being on a date. I say this as a woman who dated men with more than me. Always have enough to cover your meal and your ride to/from. Protect yourself from potential financial abuse/leverage later. Ladies, sometimes dating out of your financial league can be tragic if you can’t survive/feed yourself but you are relying on them.

Mershele .. respectfully, just because a guy likes butt play or has mannerisms that dont fit into the “masculine stereotype” doesn’t mean he’s gay or DL or any less of a man. Sexual pleasure is sexual pleasure and mannerisms dont define someone’s sexuality. If it’s something you don’t like; thats fine, but your “overly aggressive” energy can be seen as masculine by the man you’re “waiting for” even if it doesn’t accurately represent who you are.

I wonder if it ever occurs to women that a man’s hair is entirely hereditary… It is not something we can control. Hence the reason why after a certain amount of years most men just keep it super low or go bald… It’s a tons of guys who start thinning in their 20’s… why should they be eliminated bc they’re bald?? It’s a very shallow mindset to think that way if you’re a woman. Then she says toward the end, she don’t know why she’s single.

Bevy Jae has a pattern of making bad decisions. 3 marriages in 10 years, is a deal breaker for most Christian men. She needs to take time and stop looking for love, and find peace in God, not in a man that swiped right. Shes cute, but her decisions in life leave much to be desired. Marriage is more about commitment than "love" and therefore it takes longer than a few months to know if a person is committable or not. You need to date/court for at least 2 years to evaluate a person for that level of commitment.

Like did you love when you were last picked in gym for kickball? That's crazy! The whole point of life is to reproduce our bloodlines and in order to do so you have to be chosen. Ya'll enjoy your rose toys, boxed wine, and cats. 😂😂😂
