That should be a given, but black Americans cheer for the minimum. I have data analysts working for me. I hire them based on observable traits, their communication, skills, coachability and whether or not I can see them leading the department one day. I didn’t see that in him based on his first impression. That’s how people judge you, your first impression. He did not make a good one. Black Americans want to march and protest, but don’t produce enough young men that can lead industries. Black people will never be respected if our men can’t stand toe to toe with men of other races and compete. If you aren’t presenting yourself in a fashion that men like me will take you seriously, put you under our wing and mentor you in corporate America, little will change. It will always be the same families producing the same “Carltons” to get the same high paying jobs. My daughter wants to be a CMO and I’m guiding my son (14) on the path to be a CFO. I’ve tried to mentor young men like Myron, but they are hard to get right if they don’t come with an upbringing that lends itself to corporate mentorship. Make sense?
