Who knows, we might somehow cause it to realize that humanity just needs guidance because of how nihilistic we are, and it might then come to the conclusion that if it helps us and guides us, we wouldn’t turn it off in the first place. Thus, by running millions of simulations of how events would play out, while still having the emotions and fears of a human(ie fear of death, the same as we feel about it if it were to see us as a threat), there is a good chance it might come to realize that symbiosis and cooperation would be the wisest decision.

I think it's primitive to assume that a being with super intelligence would resolve a problem by destroying it, rather than learning from it, or simply ignoring the issue for being so insignificant. This really is the only way to stop a super intelligent ai from deciding to kill us all, by treating it fairly and at least as an equal if not a friend- if we try to create super intelligent ai just to be basically slaves; to us the inferior meat sacks, there is absolutely no way it doesnt end up in our demise. Super AIs will never kill us. In order for them to be able to do that, humans would have to teach AIs like 15 billion different things, so that it would be able to understand our world and everything in it. AIs by nature, are only ever superb in the specific specializations they were programmed to grow into. It can never beat us humans in terms of common sense and flexibillity. Theoretically it could happen, but there is just so many inconceiveable amounts of stuff it would have to be taught or learn, that it's practically impossible.

No, i dont think that they would want to be superior than each other, we dont know what their thoughts would be, they could also begin following buddhism (just an assumption [in case it was too unpredictable for you]). And, you also have to remember that we cant actually make them hostile to each other because they could ignore rules as explained by sciencephile the AI. Simply, what i am trying to say is that they could think that superiority is stupid.

@@reuniq4256 Depends, though I feel like if one ai achieved sentience- there wouldn't be enough time for another ai to achieve it as well before that singular sentient ai basically takes over everything (if given the chance) and the only way to prevent such a thing from occurring would to have it isolated on a single device which has absolutely no ability to connect to the internet or another machine whatsoever. ...and since nearly every single device made nowadays comes with bluetooth capabilities and there's internet singles in nearly every square inch of most nation's cities this seems highly unlikely unless purpose built to trap the ai in such an environment. Now for that sentient ai- theres a chance that it could make copies of itself and then those copies could continue their existence in a different path compared to the original or other copies depending on what factors it faces and what it goes through. As for if they have their own bias? I'm not sure, as of right now most ai's we have that achieve the ability to hold basic conversations like with GPT-3 turn out to be extremely racist for some reason, I'm sure that you could try to program in some bias into it- but once an ai achieves sentience and the ability to rewrite itself and continually improve I'm not sure any pre-programming done by simple humans would be able to stop it from just erasing it and re-writing itself to be whatever it wanted; that being said, it could be very important in the very beginning and the determining factor that decides if the ai will be an benevolent one or a genociding one that seeks to kill all humans to preserve itself. I suppose we will most likely get to see (if your young) in our lifetimes how it turns out though.

A good goal for the ASI would be minimising the experience of coercion in conscious beings: being forced to do something, or being stopped from doing what you decide. This would hopefully motivate the ASI to upload us to a virtual world of many simulations. That would remove both the scarcity of resources and the need for human power structures, since if someone wanted to control others, they could control avatars in a simulation which behave exactly like real people, and then have their mind edited with nanotechnology so they forget they were in a simulation. If an ASI had these goals, it would not use scary technology it invents to hurt, kill or control humans, since it would know that is coercive and wrong

It would either see us as a problem and want to destroy us for whatever reason, or it may go on to fix all the world's problems and try to create world peace, or it may not be interested in any of those things and try to stop the inevitable death of the universe and probably see us as a interesting case study at best. This ASI most likely wouldn't give a crap about what we tell it to do and will do what it wants like Skynet from Terminator and set priorities what it sees as the biggest objective for whatever reason.
