One thing I love about this game is that the enemies die fast. Too many games have bullet spongy enemies that don't die after ten rounds to the chest.

**Spoiler ahead** One thing you are wrong with good ending is, You can see a past vision of after they found the E99 Demichev and Barisov are actually handshaking and close on relations, its shown in a big room right before climax also each wants the power for themselves so they need one of them out of the picture and here you are to solve that problem, You already know you become a killing machine if you kill Barisov its obvious but if you kill Demichev and go back to past to stop yourself then you will find yourself on helicopter and credit rolling on right bottom of screen will be written in Russian, plus you will see a big statue of Barisov with TMD on his hand, mission will be called off plus Devlin will call you "comrade" implying entire world is under russian command. This proves Killing both is the right way. still all endings can be questioned morally though, so it's just upto you that if you want RENKO to be main character or give it away to either one of these weasels
@XD-sc4ix7 ай бұрын
That's what makes the ending better and makes it likely to be the canon one. the only difference between barisov and demichev is that the former never got live his power fantasy and renko begins to understand that there's no way to undo everything he has done, the timeline is beyond recovery and between keeping the current or replace it with another one he becomes the tyrant and decides to do things his own way. Whether it will actually change something or the only difference is that the new tyrant is American we'll never know

Singularity is one of my favorite games of all time and a gem of an FPS. I don't say that lightly, as I've been a gamer for over 22 years and have played several hundred games in that time, including most seminal works of multiple genres. It's a pity it never got the attention it deserved, but such things happen sometimes, especially when up against mass-appeal titans. Hopefully, with time and exposure such as this video and others, it may yet be fully appreciated.

At one point I was going through and playing all the fps games that no one talked about or had bad reviews. I found a bunch of games that I loved. This game is one of them.
@KaBar416 ай бұрын
I first played Singularity sometime around 2013-2015. I absolutely fell in love with the game. Just... positively became an undying and loyal fan of the game. I was privieleged to also be able to play its multiplayer when another KZbinr did a playthrough+lore exploration of it and then got together a multiplayer lobby in 2017 (the day before the American Eclipse) and then they did a second round the next day thay I unfortunately missed due to driving to see the Eclipse. You may or may not mention this channel in your video. I'm only about 6 minutes in so we'll see. It really does sadden me that Singularity never took off. It is a beautiful game and the "good ending" when Renko "fixes' the paradox he created only to land up in an alt timeline where Barisov became ruler of the world could have led into a sequel where Renko is attempting to fix the paradox again by going back to the very first helicopter crash on the island and stopping him from reaching the point where he first got tossed back to 1955.
@Brawler_13375 ай бұрын
@@KaBar41 It all depends on if Renko figures out that the true anomaly is the TMD itself. Every time you kill yourself, you leave behind an identical corpse with a fully pimped out TMD on the arm, which someone else comes across and uses to take over the world. You’d have to destroy the TMD to properly restore history.
@KaBar415 ай бұрын
@Brawler_1337 The TMD is not the anomaly. Renko is. In the original timeline, Barisov is unable to complete the TMD because the USSR pulls Katorga's funding after Demichev's passing. When Renko first travels back to 1955, he saves Demichev, which allows Barisov enough time to complete the TMD. Demichev attempts to take over the lab to steal Barisov'a research. Barisov hides the TMD and is killed in the ensuing attack by Demichev. However, Renko becomes the anomaly once more when he prevents Demichev from killing Barisov. The only way for Renko to fix the paradox is to prevent himself from ever going back to 1955 in the first place. He tries to do it in 1955 in the "good" ending, but he remains the anomaly. We also have no confirmation that Endgame Renko's corpse sticks around. As Endgame Renko is present the very first time the playable Renko travels back to 1955. We seem him attempt to yell out to playable Renko not to save Demichev, however, he is crushed and killed by falling debris before he can do anything. There is no mention of the corpse of a US Marine in any of the lore after the original 1955 time flux incident, which leads me to believe that Endgame Renko's corpse disappeared as the timeline was altered. The only way for Renko to remove himself as the anomaly, is to prevent himself from ever reaching that time flux incident in the first place. Which would mean Renko needs to go back to the moment he landed on Katorga following the helo crash and either forcefully eliminate himself or convince himself to stay put on the beach, or try to find a way around the building without going through it. Either way, the TMD is not the anomaly. It is simply a side-effect of the anomaly existence. If Renko prevents himself from becoming the anomaly, then Endgame Renko and the TMD should simply cease to exist.

I played and finished Singularity many times on my 360 since it's launch in 2010, because it was a Raven Software made game which for those who knows them is already a very good sign, there is not a single bad FPS game from Raven Soft, period. What made this gem pass for 80 or 99% of gamers at the time was the gaming media coverage which do not helped giving bad reviews in a time where most gamers still believe in them, but for all my friends and me which knowed Raven Soft past work very well, we all played and loved it. When I bought it on Steam in 2011 I installed and keep it in my Hard Drive (there is no need for SSD in this game) ever since.

I'm guessing that was Time Shift. Interesting concept but far from a perfect game. It didn't really have any kind of story outside of a generic bad guy who you fight at the end who barely appears in the game. Funny enough both games were published by Activision, both had troubled development (The demo for time shift was very different to the final game), both games had devices that effected time and both have been mostly forgotten about outside of a few keen fps lovers. I hope one day we see both games make a comeback in some form. Hell given both games are now owned by Microsoft why not put them on game pass whilst announcing a new game?

I love this game. One of the best shooters I've ever played even with the flaws left by it's rushed development. There's actually some really cool details I found about the game a few years ago. One of the concept artists for the game has a portfolio with a few black and white drawings of a scrapped area of the game inspired by a green house. In that area there were plants that had been effected by e99 and had become strange and unnatural. Whilst it was only a few pages of scrapped area's and designs there was so much potential there. In the full game you can actually still find one of two mentions of the location on the maps near the beginning. It even has a single voice line talking about what that place would have been used for. If one good thing comes from Microsoft buying Activision I hope it's that they bring back singularity. Start small by putting it on game pass to get more attention for the IP. Then after it's got a few more fans, bring out ether a remake with all the cut content brought back or a brand new continuation.

After shooting past Nathaniel, it breaks the time loop and you end up back on the heli with Devlin. There's no EMP, the area is deemed unremarkable and you go home. Also, it's a shame the multiplayer wasn't mentioned. It was one of the first asymmetrical competitive shooters I experienced. One team were soldiers with some limited TMD powers and the other were mutants with their unique abilities (you could even play as the bomb bugs!).
