Instead of being like Arsenal or Chelsea crashing out early on. Banter and mocking culture in football very often ignores that winning, ultimately, is the most important thing. There are zero extra style points for how you win or advance. Win, advance, move on, and that’s it.

What we saw LO do to City today has been a pervasive and constant issue all season that Pep, for whatever reason, refuses to adapt: defensive system. Whether it’s the new young defenders or seasoned vets, the same problems persists: City's massive vulnerabilities defensively and from the MF. Why Pep is not dropping the backline a bit and simply playing a back 4 like in the treble season vs tough opposition is beyond me. For the rbeasier teams (if there are any given how poor we are), then do what you also did in the treble season and play the high backline and invert a defender or 2. But to have that be the default when we’re being scored on at ease by virtually any team we play is madness. Maybe the 5-1 wasn’t painful enough for Pep to admit to himself he’s wrong and needs more pain and embarrassment. I’m sure RM will be much obliged to slap us if we play like we have been.

Until he recognizes it (can’t see how he hasn’t considering 43 goals conceded across last 21 games played is nuts to me), we will keep conceding goals and dropping points
