Hi Pike Man,... thank you for your honest comment! I must admit that today I would (and actually do as you can see in the more recent videos), too, use a much shorter intro! At those times videos were made for PC or TV,.. watching KZbin on mobiles was just not that common,...and therefore the clip was optimized for those. I wouldn't habe guessed that this clip gets seen so often, that it's still on some playlists... Sorry, for disappointing you,... Subwaterfilm I noticed the difference, although at first I thought it was the same model filmed at different times until I read the description. When the ship is introduced, the overhead stuff hanging from the rigging caught my eye. Then as it's sinking that's gone and the bridge and other parts suddenly had rust and weathering painted on. The model at my club was a little before my time so I never got a chance to look inside it, but I think it was either a piston or a two-way pump.

Here’s the story. The Wotan set sail for Chittagong shipbreakers yard on December 1st 1989. But on the way" the pumps malfunctioned and it started to sink. But the pumps were fixed and it started to raise itself......??????? Note: she was restored and preserved In Hamburg, Germany as a sailing museum.

Hi Silvia.... yes,.. that´t exactely what may have happend... the date is right,... the shipbreaking-yard is right... the pumps, as bad, as they were maintained may very well have failed.... and in addition the captain for sure had no money to pay for a salvage.... the the Ing. must have´d work as hell, to get them running again........ :-)) Sorry Silvia for me answering so late... Hi DATTEXS, thanks for your comment. You got a fine look for details :-) It is an offshore supply ship: the "TS 41-Rough" from Hapg Lloyd. I´m sure it was next to the Lugger because it smelled an "Lloyds Open Form Rescue" :-)

Hi Finn, das ist tatsächlich ne echte Geschichte,.. da werkelt eine kleine Pumpe mit einem Tauchtank im Rumpf. Deshalb ist es auch wichtig, dass das Heck nie ganz untergeht. Dann könnte die Pumpe keine Luft mehr in den Tank drücken und die Wotan würde auf einen Taucher warten müssen :-)

Hi Jpdillon, thanks a lot.... Yep, the motor room ist watertight incl. the electronics the batteries and the motor.... but still the motor would,.. as long as you sail her in sweet water, and dry her sorrowfully afterwards, tolerate a little bit of wetness. A brushless motor would even tolerate a lot more, because there are no coals, which have to turn submerged.

I am planning on adding a little net to one of myboats and ill see if I get any freshwater shrimp with it. I live in Michigan, by the great lakes, so I got quite a few choices on where I want to fish. Also my brother has a phobia of the shrimp and when I catch one or two and show him them, he'll freak out XD. And if you are confused by what boat i'm using, i'm making little cardboard boats with motors on them, they're sturdy little buggers, with 2 layers of tape and a solid hull. I may or may not catch anything but im just doing it for the fun anyways =)

Hi Markus, vielen dank,.. werde es dem Erbauer des "Untergangsmodells" weiterleiten :-) Und ja,.. das ist mit einer Art Tauchtank gemacht. Aber ganz untergehen kann es nicht, da dieser Tauchtank die Luft an die Umgebung abgibt und sie sich zum lenzen auch dort wiederholt. Ist also nur ein "Halbtaucher" im weiteren Sinn ;-)

Lieber spät als nie... Ich habe rechts und links 2 Tanks im Rumpf, die etwa von der Aufbauvorderkante bis in den Bug reichen. Sie werden nacheinander von einer Zahnradpumpe gefüllt. Zusammen haben sie 2 Liter Volumen, was leider etwas zuwenig ist. Ich muss den Dampfer deutlich zu tief trimmen, sonnst taucht das nicht richtig ;-) Der Auslass liegt am Heck, da sieht man im Video kurz das Wasser rauskommen. Die Stelle liegt immer über Wasser. Und falls sie das nicht tun sollte habe ich andere Probleme bzgl. des Auftauchens....

A fishing trawler... also you will not find it in any official store any more at the moment you might have succes looking into the online auctions.... there are quite a few wich change their owners from time to time.... Ich muß leider gestehen das ich noch so viele "halb fertige" Modelle im Keller stehen habe, die ich, seit dem wir den Kanal betreiben, aus Zeitnot einfach nicht mehr fertig gebaut bekomme.... Da jetzt ein doch etwas umfangreicheres Modell wie die wirklich sehr tolle EISWETTE zu beginnen würde nicht wirklich viel Sinn machen. Aber ich werde mir in Zukunft wieder mehr Zeit nehmen um wenigstens die vorhandenen Baukästen und Modelle fertig zu bauen... (Drück mal kräftig die Daumen, dass ich das auch eine Weile durchhalte :-)) ... und daraus dann auch sicher die eine oder andere Detaillösung in ein Video verwandeln... Hihi... yep... the first time, it started it´s way down, other vessels imedately startet to rush for help... , I was filming on the other end of the pool, when called for help, too. Hallo Stefan,... die WOTAN hat einen Tauchtank eingebaut... mittels Pumpe wird dieser gefüllt... und wenn Du genau hin siehst, dann bemerkst Du den Wasserstrahl der am Heck des Schiffes auf der Belüftungsöffnung des Tanks spritzt. Tank voll :-). Die RC Komponenten sind natürlich ebenfalls in einem Trockentank untergebracht.... LG, Holger von Subwaterfilm

You´r welcome :-) Actually it stays afloat all the time as it is made watertight all around... but there is a diving-tank inside wich gets filled up with water,.. and when full you can see a small fontain at the rear side of the vessel. And when getting back to level it simply pumps the water out of the tank and the hull comes up again..... :-) Best wishes, Holger

Hi Ben, the Wotan is an old kit of the Germany Modelkitmanufacturer "robbe"... I don´t think they sill produce her,... but put Wotan and robbe into googlie and it will show you lot´s of nice pix :-)
