Perhaps it would be more prudent to carry out the ground stabilisation process _before_ any properties are built (and possibly also use a solid reinforced concrete foundation so a significant proportion of the ground underneath the house would have to be compromised before the house itself was, giving a time window of several weeks or months at least to either undertake repairs or properly move out with all possessions).

Everyone should be aware that there's a massive risk trying to repair a sinkhole will actually escalate the situation and make it much worse, much faster.

Cool video and nice idea but what's to stop water from working it's way through whatever is put there in the caverns, or between the rods/shafts, or even worming it's way through the limestone from different angles and taking out a bigger area? Remember even the tallest mountain can crumble to pebbles.

If it happens under my house I just bond gas baloons at the roof. Like that movie "Up". And that will never sink.

no commentary, a sink hole could have a volume of several thousand ft square, would be cheaper to move house

a contractor would probably charge $50k to do a job like this I'd imagine and have every single no fault clause in the book. How can you honestly say this would be a good choice for a homeowner to invest that kind of money in worthless property and most likely, structurally damaged building? I'd advise the homeowner to take their stuff and run. Maybe the property would make a good parking lot in the future.

You SHOULD NOT fill it in with cement because it contains water and water erodes the stone

It seems like the pillars are connected to the house and the weight of the house is now on the rock instead the sand.

Nice idea but you can't monitor it the ground below

Knitting ground is stupid idea - water will find a way always. Better scan areas before you alow to build houses there for people. And ask responsibility for mistakes done. And use tax money for searching reasons and etc.

I agree, Who knows if there is a much bigger void just below. Band aid and lipstick is not a solution. Besides I've seen many multiple house construction projects that received all city building permits on old land fill, sometime filled with garbage by the city itself, that land will never be stable. Unless it is dug out and refilled with good material and good compaction. Hum with sink holes, I don't know how deep can you scan? I would run away. I remember this one time, they pored the foundation and before they could start building the house the foundation had sunk 18'' on one side. Then what? Fight the city in court to get your money back? Good luck.

I am glad that they ( sinkholes) can be repaired, but if a life is lost in one of these. Repairing a sinkhole will not be enough to tell a family. I just pray that I do not come in contact with me and my family. I will be hiring a structural engineer to check for cracks and hidden cracks that I would have otherwise missed.
