Hex screws notwithstanding, isn’t the “bracelet security” on a watch always limited to the strength of its weakest point - which is almost always spring bars?
@absolutelynonameslef Жыл бұрын
The only negative to this watch that I've found is that it has to go back to Sinn in Germany for battery replacements. No independent watchmakers will touch it, due to the case oil. I'm in the process of shipping to Sinn right now.
@MrBacchus18 Жыл бұрын
May I ask how much does this cost?
@absolutelynonameslef Жыл бұрын
@MrBacchus18 it was right around $300USD, shipped back to Ohio. I can dig out the receipt if you need a firmer number. Got my UX back about 3 months ago. It took 4-6 months. Fresh battery and oil fill.
@MrBacchus18 Жыл бұрын
@@absolutelynonameslef no no thanks for the information. It’s just a watch I’m considering and I figured the local guy can’t do it and it might need to be shipped out. The ballpark cost of service is very helpful.

This watch is epic. My only concern is the smudging on the crystal. Is that interior because of the oil or is it the exterior AR coating smudging or partially removed?
@tottenhamnole3 жыл бұрын
The AR coating on the outside of the crystal is hardened to 1800 vickers which makes it “sticky” to water. I’ve read it can be difficult to get the water spots off but they do come off.

This watch is really trippy with that oil dial. I don't understand how this doesn't have a cult following! I would argue you'd have to be a bigger nerd than a Grand Seiko owner to buy a Sinn in the first place. Surely they can get over this being quartz?

I bought one 11 years ago. I changed the battery for the fist time 6 months ago! It was sent to Germany and returned back to me in 3 weeks. 300-400 australian dollars. The factory adjusted the bezel for me and I didn't even request that. Hows that for service!

3 week turn around. If you cannot wait 3 weeks for your watch then no point in having a high end watch. Even a mechanical watch needs a service and probably before the battery in the ux.

Anybody knows? Why is the back cover of this watch made from 2 pieces of metals, not jut one solid cover?

Part of the back case is a diaphragm, which bends under high pressure depth 🤓

Its not just a quartz, but a super-quartz. It is ETA 955.652 - an expensive thermo-compensated quartz movement with 7 jewels gold plated brass parts. No cheap plastic. Very few quartz movements are accurate to its standard -/+ 10 seconds per YEAR.
@rinnychor Жыл бұрын
@@simeon2148 Let's not forget. This is a quartz that can give freakin' GRAND SEIKO quartz a run for their money in terms of accuracy! But can those blingy watches even handle a fraction of WR and tankiness of this overengineered German beast? I think not! And seriously, how much do those cost compared to this?! It's hardly even a fair competition, and the Sinn is just objectively better built as a pure tool dream watch designed to take more than enough beating you'd normally get on your daily basis. Try doing that to your own GS and I can assure you'll cry soon.

Are those marks on the crystal there because the outer AR coating has worn off?
@mr_watchaddict31462 жыл бұрын
No, just smudging from finger grease. My 104 does the same, and I think Tim’s skin was extra sweaty due to the fact that this watch is so hot. 😉
