Sinn Fein MP takes aim at DUP and 'inhumane' ending of eviction ban in Easter Rising speech

Sinn Fein's John Finucane criticised the DUP and the Irish government's ending of the eviction ban during a speech marking the 1916 Easter Rising on Sunday, 9 April.
The Belfast North MP praised the "international success story in peacemaking" of the Good Friday Agreement, which this Easter celebrates its 25th anniversary, as he called on the DUP to "recognise that they failed and get on with the business of representing those who elected them within the institutions [of the agreement]."
Mr Finucane also criticised the Irish government's "inhumane" decision to end a ban on rental evictions during winter months.

I vote SF. They need to speak up on unvetted, undocumented migrants entering Ireland from safe countries. The drug problems across the country need some fresh thinking too. As the largest party North and South of the island, they will likely be in power next GE. Irish Freedom Party gaining momentum due to migrant shambles and neglect of our own.

Irelands birthrate is 1.63 per woman (2020). Population decrease means a tightening workforce, less people to support your elderly, like for example japan. A replenishment birthrate, to maintain your current population, is 2.1 children per woman. In other words, without immigration, negative growth, you’re fked. I expect countries around the world to compete for migrant workers soon.. You need migrants or your economy will poop itself in due time..

In addition, migrants often have lower unemployment rates than native population. Prime example would be the poles in the UK. Don’t let your politicians frighten you so much. Learn to understand the other side of the argument.

Truly not taking any side, but I am not sure what nationalists really stand for considering that 90% of the republics voting population voted to drop constitutional claims to N. Ireland. In a word, nationalist in N. Ireland want unification, but do the Irish in the Republic want unification?

How in the hell did you miss the Irish reunification stance if failed to grasp on anything else? Do you think, given the history of famine as weapon of war and the deaths of countless people, the trafficking of Irish children is forgotten because Ireland has multi parties? Let me put it simply- let’s stop the nonsense confusion and get straight to the point. The English illegal occupation/colonization from Africa to Ireland must end. The agreements between DUP/crown loyalists and Irish people were made while the native Irish were under extreme duress facing existential threat. To ask the Irish to forfeit self sovereignty is inhumane and a crime. England is also screwing Scotland by refusing the much sought self determination as well. The international community must unite and stop imperial English rulership. This is illegal plain and simple. I guess it serves England right to have a sitting king who wishes to be the tampon of his concubine
