It’s a Coogler flick, so here’s the deal-if he’s showing this much in the trailer, these aren’t the biggest twists by a long shot. I bet a lot of these ‘twists’ or ‘spoilers’ happen in the first half, and the rest will completely blow us away. Coogler chose these clips for a reason.

We shall see. One of the main producers responded to a comment on the Reddit post for this trailer to a viewer who said it gave away too much. Their response was, "I guarantee it doesn't. Trust me!" Personally, I think we are dealing more with vampires here, based on a few clues in this trailer.

Jordan's character isn't twins but two of him from two different time periods brought together in the same time.

The viewer commented: "I regret watching the trailer, it gave away way too much..." Then the main producers responded with: "I guarantee it didn't. Trust me!" Personally, I think there is a lot more than just vampires in this movie. Maybe other kinds of monsters, if you listen closely you can hear werewolves at 2 points in this trailer. Or the clue of the old woman's speech that mentions ghosts, ghouls and witches.

I don't think it gave away everything but youre not wrong about me wishing they didn't show Hailey and his brother as vamps. If they implied it or just did the voice through the wall with his brother it would have been a lot more effective imo

I'm willing to bet they get turned only a third of the way into the film and that's why theyre okay with showing that. I think the brother and Hailey being vamps are meant to sell the movie, promoting that MBJ is playing dual roles as a hero and villain. The only thing we know is who turns, nothing else about how it happens or what becomes of them.

@GoliathWarfare if it is something that happens in the first quarter of the movie I'm good with it but if we're past half and it ends up being a big reveal of either turn I'm gonna be mad lol. And MBJ being both hero and villain is definitely supposed to be a selling point... but if it's not an early development I wish it was held for the movie. I think whoever cut this trailer did stuff like that to put outta in seats at the cost of the movie.

@Grimbear13 that might be true about the trailer cut, but Ryan did a commentary vid for the trailer explaining some things, so he approved everything that was revealed and I think he would be adamant about saving certain surprises for the film if those were the only surprises. I think he always planned to sell the film as MBJ vampire hunter vs. MBJ vampire. Hailey being a vamp might not be a spoiler either since folks were expecting that too. He also says the film takes place over one day and we meet the antagonist pretty early on, so I imagine most of what we see happens early in the film. I think the issue is Ryan revealed almost nothing in the first trailer and people loved that, but at some point they have to enlighten audiences on what to expect from the story. Beyond seeing who turns, we don't know anything more about the characters and their journey in the film. The rest of the plot is still a mystery, so hopefully we're good.

I'm just at the point where I almost wanna stop watching trailers because things like the first trailer for this or the first trailer for Smile or Wild Robot I thought were incredible and then the second/third ones gave me too much cause my movie watching brain was able to put together most the movie.

@Grimbear13 I definitely agree on that, trailers nowadays show way too much as if they're not confident in their product and the first trailer for this had me on board without showing much at all. However, the only thing I can put together based on this trailer is that "Stack" (Ryan said the brothers are named Stack and Smoke) and Hailey's character have some type of love affair and then they get captured by the lead vampire and turned before they all descend onto the club to feast on the regulars. Beyond that, I can't really tell what's going to happen or why, so hopefully the rest of the movie's surprises are still intact.

The only thing I love more than the "classic" monsters (werewolves, vampires, et al) is when someone can take one of these characters and use them with an entirely new story line/approach. Abigail, Dusk Till Dawn, Daybreakers, Blood Red Sky, etc. are great examples, and looks like this will be another one. I'm here for it!

This is how you know Coogler is one of the best directors and is an actor’s director. He cast Jack O’Connor as the main antagonist. He for me is one of the best young British actors there is. He doesn’t have the global fame of a Robert Pattison, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston or Tom Hardy, because he has never really done a big franchise movie, but he is a better actor than all of them. It shows Coogler has an eye for talent.

@ the problem is the black panther films get over criticism from a certain demographic who hate what it represents, which is why Black Panther has the lowest rating of all the Marvel movies due to racist review bombing when it is one of the best MCU movies, so when I see claim Wakanda Forever is a terrible movie, I just feel it is the same demographic over criticising the movie because objectively it was a good movie.

The reason for this trailer and why they showed as much as they did is an easy answer Kristian. Hand holding. See people these days are too impatient to wait and see what's going to happen and what a story is about or going to be about so they need to tell the audience so they will pay for a ticket. If they don't know anything about the movie, then a lot of people won't buy tickets to see it in theaters and won't even give it a chance.

This trailer showed a bit too much IMO but the movie still looks great: I like the music-conjuring-spirits aesthetic 👍🏾 Everyone kinda knew Hailee was gonna be a vamp but I wish they would've kept that reveal for the movie: I like how she was teased in the teaser a few months back. Then the love scene shown b/w her & 1 of MBJ's characters implies vamp MBJ vs. his non-vamp twin. I was a little surprised when I saw Hailee Steinfled turned into a vampire. But I would have preferred having that surprise while watching the movie in the theater! Hopefully it's not actually that big of a deal in context of the story. Even if they just left that one detail out of the trailer, I think there would have been enough already shown to get the message across that we're definitely dealing with vampires here. On the positive..I'm definitely down for this movie. The time period, plus the other supernatural elements implied that don't seem strictly vampire related. It almost has a voodoo/old time religious revival vibe. Interesting. I'm in!

I’m out on the From Dusk Til Dawn comparisons, very different film from what this looks like. This seems to be how trailers work nowadays. You get your tone trailer 1st, then you get the story trailers. If you are in on the tone trailer then it probably your best bet to avoid any trailers after that and just go see the movie, unfortunately for you, it's your job. This is also a tip for people who were in on the 1st superman trailer, if they do release a proper new one at the Super Bowl it may contain spoilers so you may want to dip out on it if you want to be surprised when you watch the movie.

Maybe it’s just me, but the thing I was annoyed most by with this trailer is the fact that every other second I heard that overly used gun cocking sound aftect😂 Yes, in a matter of speaking, they probably did show a little little too much however, more than anything I feel like this is how you have to market movies like this. Making a really good trailer that has atmosphere and tone that fits is so vital.
