I accidentally revealed my secret weapon in my last video. The sintered diamond bur/bit!!! They are longer lasting, faster cutting and can be 10 times more expensive if you dont hunt around. I will now use them much more on the channel from now on.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering the difference between the burs and why the big price jump. Now I know, thanks so much for sharing!
@RoysRocks
@RoysRocks Жыл бұрын
Yeah big difference which is why it sucks to hear people tell me they got ripped off paying for sintered and getting electroplated. Price jump is crazy in some parts of the world because people are just selling them for 4-7x the wholesale price. I think the worst I have seen is in Europe.

The 50 pack ones? Electroplated burrs are REALLY aggressive that is for sure. Its because they are coated on the outside rather than embedded in the metal head. The sintered burrs can start out a little rough so I always recommend people dress them a little before hand. (covered in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpq5i4usm7OkjdU)

Frankly, I’m surprised this isn’t obvious, but the reason the Chinese ones are identical and cheaper is because they are stealing the R&D, designs, specs, etc. from the more expensive company who funded them, and selling out the back door. I have first hand experience with this, and cut all ties with Chinese manufacturing because of it. You are buying stolen intellectual property, and I urge you not to do it. The originating company pays engineers, researchers, developers, manufacturing experts etc. to develop a top product that you want, and has to charge enough to fund that quality. They then contract with a Chinese company to try to save costs, and many times even buys their equipment for them, and they repay that by selling out the back door because they have NONE of those costs. Not all Chinese companies do this, but when you see identical products like this, that is exactly what is happening. Don’t buy them please!
@RoysRocks

The electroplated are cheaper because they are a different tool not because they are Chinese. The sintered diamond burrs are also made in China it is two completely different technologies. What annoys me the most is companies in places like Europe thinking they are completely justified in charging 100x costs (development and manufacturing) and trying to say that is okay. Greedy profits like that need to come down if companies dont want to lose people to knock-offs. I have developed my own metal oxide polishing powders that beat all the other powders I have tried and I charge LESS than the market. I've still managed to pay off the development costs after a year and it is my highest margin product, I'm just not greedy.
