How would you find the period if it wasn't given to you at all with no coefficient but had obtained a and d?

You could find the period if you're given a graph / diagram or extra info, or if you know a few of the coefficients (like "a" and "d"), then you can try to use a specific point (x,y) that you know, and use that plus the "a" and "d" to solve for "b" - that then allows you to find the period since period = 2*pi / b

Yes, we're working on it now, but it takes a while to design and record all the videos. I hope at least the SL core ones can help a bit. Actually, some of what you need for AI HL is found in the AA SL course (radians from topic 3, chain rule etc from Topic 5, integration by substitution). So some of those can be helpful for now.
