I find with Howard, that his screams/growls always have this sort of wind-up to them, like he's not just dropping into it, more like he's unleashing it so-to-speak. The first syllables are typically stretched. It's the perfect compliment to the way he belts out his choruses. It never sounds like he's not giving his all, and that's why he's so revered, I reckon.

I only checked that scream out so I don't know for sure, but it might be possible that they're upper soprano range or even mezzo-soprano, and utilizing their upper range in conjunction with pitched screaming. I lean more towards the pitched screaming in whistle theory, but who knows?

I always loved Howard in KSE - as I have been late to them (always late to things just like you ;D) and have only started listening to them when they were already pretty popular here in Germany - just as much as I do love Jesse being back with them. Never understood why people think they need to pit both against each other- they're both unique and awesome singers! That said, I always felt it rewarding to keep up with all the other stuff both do outside of KSE, like with Howard in Light the Torch and Devil you know and Jesse in Times of Grace, the side project he's in with Adam D. I'm almost sure you'd enjoy some of that stuff as well :)

Still want to see you react to HOLLOW PROPHET / SCUMFUCK - SCUMPROPHET. Would hate to see you never hear this amazing side project. Been Duerr and Duck is Allen? Come onnnnnnnnn. There newest song Disembodied Phenomena is insane as well, I'd love either one, OR BOTH.

You should definitely go back and check out the old Killswitch Engage discography (mainly because me, random internet man, said u should). They were one of the bands that got me into metal.
