Have this as well as the 12 and cigar Malt. I enjoyed this bottle the most.

My brother-in-law has the cigar malt...I think it's a toss up between that one and this. Cheers!

I have a few Dalmore products. 12, 14, 15, Cigar Batch, and Port Wood. A couple years ago I tried the 12 and thought it had similar sweet notes to a Bourbon. I gave it to my Scotch hater friends and they enjoyed it. I always considered the 12 to be a good bridge. The Cigar Batch is one of the few "Sips" I have. I always have one open on the shelf!

I like the Cigar Batch as well. My brother-in-law has a bottle. Of all the Dalmore bottles we have I think I like this one most.

Dalmore was ok, tried a few years ago now, i think i liked the Cigar Malt though as i say its been a long time since i tried it. cheers

My brother-in-law has the cigar malt and I prefer it over this. Still not exactly what I want, but in my opinion it's better than this.

The Dalmore 12 is always on my bar. I really enjoy it. i’ve had 15 as well, but for the price, I would prefer two bottles of the 12.

The economy pack. 2 for the price of one. Cheers!

I can’t comment on the the Dalmore. But I can comment the abv of 40. In a side by side I sipped a 46 abv whisky. My girlfriend had a 40 abv whisky. After the first sip I tried her dram. After about 10 seconds the flavor of the 40 abv was gone and I tasted the stronger one again. A huge difference in just 6 %. That is the reason we love the higher proof scotches. The lower ones just don’t deliver. 🥂
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
I agree. More proof generally equates to more flavor and longer finish. Cheers!

Not sure why Dalmore can’t hike the ABV up a bit,at least 43%
@Venetianization3 ай бұрын
@@francisoconnor2392 that would be like 6 or 7 % less bottles to sell I guess

Thanks for the video Peter. This bottle is $210 Canadian in Calgary here. It’s a skip for me. I have tried a couple of the higher end dalmore they were excellent but way too expensive would never buy.
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
They are a good tasting bottles, but just not something I would replace. Especially at the price and proof point.

I don't full on boycott The Dalmore. But like many say, proofed to the floor, and scrubbed of flavours, colourant added ... it's The Dal-no-more for this guy.
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
I like all the bottles I have but will not replace any of them when they are gone. They have intense flavors but only for a split second and then it's gone.
@tonylastname64683 ай бұрын
@whiskeyisajourney agreed. I cannot say they are not good, but I wonder what they could be without the corporate bottom line.

Dalmore in general is a skip for me. My favorite unpeated sherried 15 at the moment is the Old Pulteney 15. It’s got some briny character, a nice mouthfeel and an orange note that is great.
@whiskeyisajourney2 ай бұрын
I still have not had any Old Pulteney. I need to. Cheers!

For me? A huge skip. Joel occasionally has a Dalmore. He thinks they try to appeal more to male scotch enthusiasts! I agree! Terrific video and thoughts Peter!! Hope work and family are terrific!!

I like the lineup they have, but I am not a fan of the proof or price point of them. All good here. I go in Monday for my hernia surgery. All my videos for October are all shot so I am set to go. Batch shooting was tough and the quality of the videos went down as I shot more and more, but they will have to do. Cheers!

Huge good luck wishes Peter for a successful hernia surgery. Huge healing wishes are on the way.

Too much colorant in there. Dalmore will have to make some changes for us enthusiasts.

Agreed. It would be nice if everything was at least 46% and naturally presented.

If you had to choose between Scotch whiskey or Bourbon, what would your choice be? Greetings from Serbia 🫵🥇
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
Such a tough question to answer, but if I could only drink bourbon or scotch for the rest of my life I think bourbon would win out. Only by the closest of margins. How about you? What's your choice?
@RSS_7543 ай бұрын
@@whiskeyisajourney I'm quite new to this, until now I've been drinking without much understanding and knowing the differences between them, and now I'm addicted not only to drinks as drinks, but to everything that goes along with it, from the process of making it, to tasting it... and after all however, like you, I'm a little more on the side of Bourbon, which is not widely available in Serbia where I live, but I manage to get it.

I had the Dalmore 12 at the start of my journey. For then, it was good. Now, it would be a skip. Too expensive and - to my mind - the proof is too low.
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
I feel the same way about most of their lineup. Cheers!

The 15 is fairly forgettable… The 14 and 12 Sherry Cask are interesting. But again, for what they are and their prices these days. I think they are all skip its. Loved the segment!

I really enjoyed this when I first got into drinking scotch, but very quickly outgrew it. I still like the flavors, but it's too much money for what it is. I totally agree with you on that. Cheers!

The Dalmore King Alexander pairs so well with a cigar. It was the first whiskey that I truly picked up a strong ripe strawberry note with.
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
Strawberry notes sound good. I'm not a cigar smoker, but I've heard the same thing before about it pairing well with cigars. Cheers!

Skip. I actually do like the Dalmore profile but with the low proof and chill filtration, the finish is almost nonexistent. Not to mention the high price tag.
@whiskeyisajourney3 ай бұрын
I'm with you on all those points. I like it, but....it could be better.
