I remember 1988 Sipho Sikhonde playing for Pirates was nicknamed after this artist and he became known as Sipho "Hotstix" Sikhonde jersey No 3. He played with the likes of Mike "Lolly pop" Mhlanga, Moses "Mbazo" Kamanga (May His Soul RIP) , Jackie "Styles" Ledwaba, Basil " Kapse Dans" Steenkamp, Innocent "Ayo Ayo" Mayoyo, Lawrence "Killer" Maake, Albert "Bashin" Mahlangu, Vincent "Last Born" Makroti, Alfred " Shakes" Gwabeni , Tebogo "Chippa" Moloi and others. Apartheid may have been bad for Black South Africans overall but inexplicably,it was a Golden Era for SA music. Mzansi music has gone downhill since the end of Apartheid. I guess it was because it took genuine talent to make it those days. Kwaito is nothing more that chanting in Zulu over a tecno beat.
