that plasma separation is very elegant. I wonder if its size exclusion for RBC. very cool.

Cool stuff, sad to see can't be sent to NY. NY is so strict... maybe I should get a po box in NJ just across the river...

I just had my first blood work in three years last week, thanks to OYL. The news wasn't all good, but it was a good kick in the A to tighten up my habits. Also, it's unbelievable how much info i was able to get for only $35. I plan to do this 2-4x annually hereafter depending how the markers look.

I go to a hematologist 3X year to check my ferritin levels (and other markers) for hemachromatosis. Earlier this year, my primary care doctor wanted me to get the PSA screening and thyroid panels. I took his Rx with me to the hematologist and got it all done at the same time. A few weeks ago, I had another follow up. I asked my PCP to write a script for me to check my testosterone and estrogen along with Vitamin D. He wanted me to come in to the office to talk about it. Eff that! The hematologist added the D, but I didn't think I needed my doctor's permission to check anything. I lost 45 lbs. in 15 months, kept it off and I am curious to see how my markers have changed in those areas. Simple. I think I might just do this instead.

How much is a home test in comparison to lab Corp blood draw?
@tomunderwood4283 Жыл бұрын
NY doesn’t allow mail in Vitamin D tests. NY has many pharmaceutical companies. If people fixed their Vitamin D deficiency, they would not need as many prescriptions. So it’s illegal in NY.

Just had 19 tests done by them.

how many microliters or ml of blood does the card need to fill up? this would be great for me in VT as I have a 150 mile drive to get LabCorp /or quest. luckily I'm on nattokinase so I think I bleed easier than I used to. really excited to see my first fasting insulin. my dr never will test me as he only looks at LDL.

Do you plan to get FDA approval?

My 2 tests with them show high vit D and super high T. Not sure why the later is 4x labcorp

I tried Everylywell a while back, it was very similar to this mail in test.

Very interesting discussion. Hope that other country is the uk.

You have to question why Lab Corp would need several tubes of blood to perform their tests, but SiPhox only needs a minute amount. If you have medical insurance, there is no good reason to skip Lab Corp and do SiPhox. My blood test at Lab Corp is $15. If you don't have medical insurance, the SiPhox would most likely be less costly.

Do all the metrics have internal validity or just vitamin D?

Ferritin is way too high! Need to donate blood 2-3 times a year to get it down. Ideal is 20-50, the levels found in premenopausal women.

SiPhox is totally inaccurate.
@floydald Жыл бұрын
Really?
@dmmcmah1 Жыл бұрын
@@floydald Yeah really. The values it gave were 25-150% off from those obtained through a typical lab. It was disappointing but makes sense - how can a dry speck of blood compare to analyzing a significant amount of drawn blood? This tech isn't ready for prime time.
@mikedubrovsky Жыл бұрын
Hmm, have you watch the video Dave posted… he did a careful experiment vs. venous draws and got excellent results
@dmmcmah1 Жыл бұрын
@@mikedubrovsky I did a comparison vs. venous draws and SiPhox was way off. I don't need to watch a video - I know what results SiPhox gave me. They were wildly off 3 times.
