I wish they would put these wheels on the SEL version; pretty sure that's where most of the range improvement comes from.

I had a 2020 Prius Prime with a ~600+ mile range and I now have a 2022 M3 RWD with a nominal 270 mile range, (which is quite affordable!) but on five 2000+ mile road trips (in each vehicle), my time to drive ~600 miles (my daily limit) is about the same, because I always combine my meal and restroom stops with charging stops. When I have access to a hwy where I can drive at a steady 70-80mph I can drive ~600 miles in about 10 hours in my M3, including time spent charging. I understand that the Ioniq 6 doesn't have access to the Tesla Supercharger network but it does charge really fast and it should road trip really well when you make the mindset transition that every stop is a charging stop, plus a restroom and/or meal break.

Agreed, when we road tripped with our SR Model Y (the car with "too short" range), by wife liked that we had to stop every few hours. Sure, not great for getting places ASAP, but it made for nice trips.

I think CA's high electricity rates makes it easier to justify a hybrid/PHEV over an EV for many people, especially if you're spending more than 40-50k on a new car. However, I love that they made such an efficient version of the Ioniq 6, and switching to NACS should make it more competitive.

This model is now selling for $36700 here in Seattle which is really a sweet spot to grab if anyone considering buying an EV

Too bad about the stereo. The one in our 2018 Tesla Model 3 is phenomenal, but the car is so loud at highway speeds that trying to listen to music is pointless unless you’re puttering around town.

Charlie, If you're impressed by its energy efficiency, I'm impressed by its energy efficiency. What a pity its rear head room does not match the rear leg room like the fabulous Prius v which appears at 17:04 .

Fun fact, I almost purchased a Prius V in college. I was between that and a C-Max Energi. However, I ended up with an Infiniti M35x.......hmmm.

Thanks for the review! I agree with your assessment that with no incentives it is pretty expensive for what it is. Personally I think the Ioniq 6 SE RWD should start at about $40K. However at about 12:00, I disagree, I would take the 6 over an Accord because I love how smooth EVs are. I test drove a 2024 accord touring with a buddy last winter and the gas engine was loud and raspy.

I've seen them in my area for around $36,000. The incentives right now are pretty good.

If VW still makes Beetle, it would look like this but with 4 doors.

Ioniqs will get access to the Tesla Supercharger Network in ~6 months. Accords look "anonymous."
@DailyMotor11 ай бұрын
Both true, but also both reasons one might choose the Accord. Some people want a nice, comfortable car that doesn't stand out. And they want it to simply *work* from the moment they drive off the lot. No charger install, no waiting for access to a charger network. Don't get me wrong, I love EVs and have owned two, but I see both sides.

I actually watched your entire video at normal playback speed. It was a nice good video, man. I wish I had fallen into the category of customers that would like this car. Unfortunately I’m not. i'm gonna have to stick with my bmw diesel

Honda with better technology? Huh? Must be something other than the infotainment?
@DailyMotor11 ай бұрын
Have you seen the infotainment in the top level Accord? It's the Android Automotive system, and it's great. My wife liked it more than any car she's used, including her Tesla Model Y and Bolt EUV.
@stargate2564511 ай бұрын
Tesla is not a good comparison; perhaps Bolt is. But the pictures on Honda's website still show the same 1980s design, so I'm not sure how that's better tech. At least it looks like the screen is finally bigger. I feel like I'm going to need more specifics if you want to claim the tech is better in the Honda, because I don't see it in the reviews.

He don't know about ev price. bz4x is more expensive than rav4. Think about it. All EV cars are more expensive than same class ICE cars. Do not complain audio for $40K car. You shoud compaire with $20K ~30K car. It is the basic of basics.

"Do not complain audio for a $40K car" Are you on drugs? A $40K car should have a sound system enjoyable enough to listen to your music. My Mazda3 Turbo for $35K has one of the best economy car Bose sound systems out there.
