Well if he stayed inside the closet then he would've actually gotten a real ending but he listened to chat and went out. So - this game literally appeals to Sips' mindset and would've just ended had he stayed there long enough.

It amazes me that in the past Sips has completed this game with almost every ending, and yet he has forgotten almost everything about it, even the fundamentals such as not being able to pick things up, and being unsure if there are jump scares... Never change Sips ma boy!

The first ending is actually the worst ending. In it you turn off a mind control machine, sure, but you blindly follow the narrator's instructions. You choose to be told what to do. The narrator said at the end that no one was ever going to tell him what to do or how to feel, but then says Stanley stepped through the door and felt happy. You're giving over your free will to the narrator

This is the actual game that never ends. Also, probably one of the best games ever made. You don't need multiplayer online, guns and half-naked people to make a good game. 27:30 In the time he spent paranoid-ing around in one room, he could have seen two endings. And in the one room where he needed to stay around, he didn't. "Ironic," I guess.

it's not meant to really be a game. the premise of it is in the title; it describes the incredibly complex relationship between video game developer and consumer, and the subject of the player's free will during it. it teaches that both of them are void and cannot exist without each other, even though they constantly conflict in a lot of things. a parable of the player and the creator
