Hi from Cape Town South Africa 🙋. As a 46 year old football fanatic who has the good fortune of being a dyed-in-the-blood Liverpool supporter. I can very easily cast my mind to memories like Dave Beasant saving a penalty for Wimbledon against LFC in the FA Cup (the first of many tearful LFC moments) as well as the miracle of Istanbul and countless other football moments encompassing all the clubs including the juggernaut led by Sir Alex, Arsene's Gunners outgrowing Highbury, Shearer leading Blackburn to the title which was almost as implausible as the fairytale which Leicester allowed all of us to live with them. Very few things stir the emotions in the way that football does. So I have to thank you Gary, Jill, Wrighty, Roy and Jamie ( there'll only ever be one😊) for providing what I can only describe as the absolute premium bit of telly to compliment the epic that is the EPL. STICK TO FOOTBALL -LONG MAY IT CONTINUE!

Lee Sharp: Absolute gentleman and the best personal memory for me as a kid - this is why… My mum used to take me to The Cliff to see the players as a kid, I lived nearby. One summer, 92 I think, my mum took me to OT to get the black and gold kit, then took me to The Cliff on the way home. No cars in the car park, no one there… As we were about to leave all these cars start pulling in, it’s all the players. Lee Sharp walks over to me and my mum, then all the players come over - literally the whole squad stood in the middle of The Cliff car park with me and my mum. I didn’t have a pen, so Lee Sharp gave me a pen and all the lads, including Fergie & Giggsy, signed autographs for me. Still have them. One of the best memories I have when I was a kid, I was about 6.

People who don't remember Lee at Utd, the guy was a great player who was just let down by not taken his career as serious as he should (some great highlight packages of his time at Utd, he always scored agaisnt us lol). Keane ended up knocking his partying on the head and became legend he did. Sharpe didn't do that, and it's a shame as he left Utd at 25 or 26. Could have had a few more trophies and goals in his career at Utd. And would have a great squad player. Some of his goals and assists are something to behold.

Ive been away for a few years now but went everywhere with United through the 90''s. We loved Sharpey, he had a reputation for partying but he was never off his head in the rave scene. I was there at Everton when he got the winner, we used to call the everton away end the trenches back then and we all went mental when we scored. Jingle bells song echoing out at goodison, we didnt win many away back then, Everton was a rough house especially for Mancs back then but we loved it. Felt Sharpey got a rough deal, in his book, he said he never got really coached, disappointed when left. We all thought he was drugs on for a while but that was just Manchester 90s. Everyone was it seemed.

1:36:44 I’m the person who is involved in a story Lee Sharpe mentions in his autobiography, although the timing is incorrect. Bumped into him and Gary Walsh, Mark Prudhoe & Deano in The Old Bank, it was after we won promotion not when we stayed up after Liverpool. Anyway the upshot is in Queens Hall when Sharpe was signing we all hate Leeds he asked me to help him up onto the bar. So I did. Then Deano asked me, but I was reluctant because there’s a bit of a size difference, but Deano being Deano wasn’t bothered so insisted. So I tried to pick him up and put him on the bar and because there’s such a weight difference (and we are all pissed), I lost my balance and dropped him. To take up that story there was a pre-season friendly against Feyanoord a few days later. Deano did not come out to play in that game when he was expected to. Even before my mates are talking about this incident, and when he didn’t come out onto the pitch I’m getting it from my mate “you’ve crocked Dean Windass”. And funnily enough, it looks like I WAS the reason he was injured and didn’t play. In my defence, he was pretty insistent about wanting me to put him on the bar. And I promise my fellow City fans there’s a lot more effort involved in picking up Dean Windass than Lee Sharpe. Also I’d just like to point out that Sharpe was a really down to earth guy and so was Gary Walsh. All of those lads went out of their way to invite me along with them and I owe Lee Sharpe a lot of gratitude for a fantastic memory as it all started by me just saying hi as a fan whilst trying to find my friends who were out and they instantly went as far as grabbing a chair and inviting me to sit down with them. When I did eventually find my friends they stopped to invite me along to Queens Hall. So after all of these years, I thought I’d finally say something about something you don’t hear about every day. And just point out that from my experience Lee Sharpe is a really decent and considerate guy. 1:27:44 I’m so glad Sharpe said this about Beags because I’ve never heard fans saying it and he did like to get to the byline turn the same player he’s beaten 5 times until he lost it and miss the chance to put a cross in. He improved over time though which was a relief and that’s when City got the best out of him. I think Sharpe was used as a left back quite a few times so we never got to see as much of his attacking that he was known for at Manchester United, but was quality in that role regardless. 1:31:00 I’m fairly confident the chairman Richmond was under the username RedRum on the Bradford City official message forum they had back then. This kind of tells me my suspicions are correct.

@@LordFlashheart.11 which players, the ones he had as young ones that he ruled with an iron fist, exactly like Ferguson. It's straight talking to smack players in the face in the dressing room, or clout fans on the pitch? Or bully them into leaving if they show any kind of dissent? Any time he had an established, successful player that he couldn't bully from a young age, he had a problem. E.g. the whole Leeds team, Stan Bowles, Larry Lloyd, Asa Hartford. Most of Ferguson's players would play for him again, I think there's exactly 2 that might not.
