Sir David Attenborough departing Cammel Lairds and swinging her compass in the River Mersey

RSS Sir David Attenborough the new Antarctic research ship leaves camel Lairds yard at Birkenhead on the 21stOctober 2020 to commence trials. After which will depart for the Antarctic where she will conduct research into the environment of the area.
The delay in her completion was, principally, due to the Covid epidemic and design changes. She sailed from Portsmouth For Stanley on the 18th November 2021 where shae is due to arrive on the 9th December 2021.
