Known as the "Father of Aviation," Sir George Cayley was a remarkable pioneering British engineer and inventor. Whose ground-breaking work designed the fundamental principles applied to modern aviation. Born in 1773, Cayley made major contributions in the study of flight through the identification of important aerodynamic variables of weight, drag, lift, and thrust. His exceptional designs and experiments with gliders and fixed wing planes during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries were an important contribution to the advancement of aviation. Imagine if you created a groundbreaking discovery just for it to be forgotten and be stolen and claimed by to couple of vainglorious brothers who gained fame stealing your research and ideas 50 years after your death. How would you feel?
