Dame Maggie died yesterday, September 27, 2024. I’m watching all the Maggie Smith things I can find-California Suite, Gosford Park (one of my all-time favorites), then got stuck on Downton Abbey. I couldn’t find Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. She told an adorable story here on Graham Norton about a little boy who kept staring at her in the grocery store. She finally said, “Can I help you?” And he said, “No, it will come to me in a minute.” Priceless.
