Wonderful to see you two together, I remember meeting John Tomlinson way back in the eighties, great to know he's still at the top of the A list. Let's hope we can hear this at some point -Cheers.

The room is also one of the instruments, getting the balance between singers, orchestra and space is a challenge so well done for that achievement.

Great chat with John Tomlinson would love to here or see your re-orchestration of Parsifal act 3. whole business about authenticity reminds me of 10 or so years ago when I saw the Birmingham Philharmonic an amateur orchestra doing the opening movement of Mahler 6. It was by no means the most perfect sounding performance but it seemed to me like how it might have sounded when the piece was first heard and completely new to everyone. I'd rather hear that then the glossy sound of Karajan and the Berlin Phil any time.

Wonderful. Love Tomlinson. I heard him sing Wotan under Haitink and Gurnemanz under Rattle. I’m so relieved that you have not reorchestrated Wagner (as Mahler did with Beethoven) but reduced the orchestra, which is still reochestration of course, but you’re obviously not aiming to improve it! I’d love to hear the reduced version
