From my experience of nhs, it is very patchy. I use the nhs mental health services. Cmht are terrible. Plus, their is a lack of long term community services, such as home help, preventative care, voluntary sectors, etc.

Re Dales explanation, were the government bonds issued by the previous Tory government during the stated recovery, or in the last 3 months of Labour government? If the oversubscribed bonds were purchased during the Tory reign because of optimism, will they still be sought after with the current incumbents, I’d doubt it.

Im 74 I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with them. Maybe I've just been lucky. However if we take on a hospital service where everyone has to pay in. What about all the immigrants who get everything and dont pay in ?

If more people in the UK took more responsibility for their health - eating less, less often and healthier foods, drinking less, giving up smoking and exercising more - we wouldn't have so many long waits for those who become ill through no fault of their own! That's the reason why the NHS is broken - because of too many people who think they can live like pigs and then get their self inflicted health problems sorted out at taxpayers expense. As for private health insurance - it costs a pittance each month compared to the amount some people spend on cigarettes and alcohol. Which is worse - someone who keeps healthy and has private health insurance that they are less likely to use because they have a healthier lifestyle or someone who thinks private health care is a sin because they are committed to the NHS - but smokes like a chimney and eats like a pig and ends up adding to the NHS queue because they haven't taken responsibility for their own health?

I couldn’t agree more in regards to people with ongoing health conditions how are we going to be catered for. Also I’m due to have kidney stone surgery performed by a top surgeon on the NHS. Where else would you get that in the rest of the world.

Good luck with that. Privatised health doesn't work. Do some research into America. Most people can't afford essential medications and treatments. A lot of medical insurances do not cover people fully. They will try and get out of paying for a lot and people have to remortgage their houses. Also medications do not have a price cap and you can pay a lot of money that shouldn't cost that much.

You have no idea what a private health care system would be like! In the US, the biggest reason for people going bankrupt is because of unpaid medical bills. Privatising healthcare would introduce huge amount of fraud. In the US, there are billions wasted every year in medical fraud.
