Watched golf l8ve for 50. years in that time saw all the greats but by far Faldo is the purest striker of a golf ball I ever had the privilege to watch. Legend of the game.

Seve gave Faldo the left thumb tip. Faldo asked him how he could firm up his swing. And, he certainly is right about left hand and arm control. One great exercise is to hold the club out to the left and then press your left hand in front of the clubhead. This actually sets the club in motion on the correct arc. The takeaway is actually two dimensional. The extensors extend whilst the wrist joint pushes back. The extensors create the arc and the wrist joint broadens the arc.

The legs are probably least mentioned part of the swing out here on KZbin lessons world when in reality they are probably 50% of the swing. I know this because whenever I went to play when my legs were tired the consistency disappeared. They fire and control the hips so if they are out of whack everything else will be. Perfect example with this lesson.

This is such an easy fix ... you guys are making it way too complicated. Obviously he's casting slightly and his shoulders are too quick. Fix the casting by placing a tee or any small object 1 ft in front of the ball and slightly off to the right and tell him to swing through that plane. Secondly, just have him fire his hips before his shoulders by telling him to make his first move forward pressing his left heel down hard - this will elimate the casting and drop the club into an inside plane. At this point, his problem should be fixed but also i would have him just stand with feet shoulder width apart and take an iron and just practice for 30 seconds switching the weight back and forth between left foot and right foot while slightly sweeping the ground to get used to shifting his weight. Either way this was not the right approach that Faldo took (in my opinion). Long story short, as long as the hips are out ahead of the hands (clubhead), you won't come over the top. Anyone who casts typically has too much involvement with their upper body and not enough hips.

Too much info.. silly gimmick exercises Simple way… But a soft practice ball under your right shoe arch and keep the pressure on through the back swing Use your left hand to push the club into the takeaway and NOT your right hand pulling the club Use your left arm to pull the club in the downswing like a toilet chain your right hand just follows Watch the club hit the back of the ball Replace your divot with a smile because the strike felt so sweet Walk down the middle of the fairway to hit your 2nd shot onto the green Laugh because the game now feels easy Your welcome
