Another bonus of the latest version of warlock: if you 4x stack the ancient/neutral camps and your hc can't or won't farm them you can just link them and upheaval to clear them all with taking almost no damage. Farming neutral items for yourself (and the team too I guess) is always useful.

Veil doesn't just increase magic damage, it increases spell damage. So things like quill spray, anchor smash, etc that deal phys dmg. Does not work on passives like cleave, glaives, or damage return. I feel like a lot of people are sleeping on the early veil and/or don't consider it a support item.

One underrated thing is to get an early 2nd or 3rd point in upheaval and set it just behind the wave when they walk up to cs, kites lots of traditionally tank offlaners massively. Every Tide thinks they can just walk it off, but you cannot, in fact, escape the poop pit

Tried this twice with an impressive winrate of 0. Its mostly because in my soloque bracket getting 3 people together for a team fight is already dreaming big. But im sure its real fun with a 5 stack.

Warlock is really easy if you are always in good position (blind spot or glimmer). He is even better with aether lens for longer upheaval cast range.

@@johndeschlong591 Not the greatest tip in meta where characters like nyx, np or bara are common If i show on the wave theres a 50% chance im already dead. As much as i like playing support i had to start playing offlane only as it seems to be way easier to tell supports what you want to do than as support telling the carrys what to do.

Abaddon also is a very tough match up for warlock. Purging the carry of the bonds, getting in your face to silence you out of upheaval. And if you do set up your perfect combo his ags ult is basically turning into free heals for his team.

I was initially disappointed you werent talking about winning mid on warlock by abusing upheaval's massive duration and unexpected damage. Even more fun with early urn to kill squishier mids. Guess thats more of a troll build for pubs though. But this is pretty great as well. Reminds me of my attempts of playing sneaky back door skeleton build wraith king.

Upheaval's duration got nerfed a couple patches back, it's no longer good just for the damage now.

I've modified Slacks' formula a little for some pub memery. Warlock mid is unironically very fun (albeit situational). Play as suggested prioritizing bonds and upheaval, as soon as you hit 6 you can almost guarantee a kill on the enemy mid if you get a good bonds off as long as they don't have a good escape ability. After that you become a rotater and pick up veil into shiva's, atos into zap rod (forgot the name lol) and if you're doing really well dagon is a pretty good meme pickup. Meteor hammer is also fun since the slow from upheaval lingers and it helps push towers, though that's more theory crafting than experience.

FINALLY People called me crazy when I lastpicked warlock mid. They flamed me, raged on me, sometimes intentionally griefed. But know what? Nobody expects Warlock mid. People don't know how to deal with him. It's crazy fun. This video convinced me to play Warlock 7 games in a row. Lost 2. Thankyou sir. Fantastic build. Difference is you're good at the game and I'm a warcraft 3 boomer casual. My build is typically Ring of Bas, Null talisman (maybe a second one if we are getting hard pressured), Ags Shard, Veil of Discord, Octarine Core, then build based on enemy heroes. ^ Is that alright?

I'd say Refresher is always better than Octarine, especially after they removed the cast range from it. Blink Dagger can be situationally good for even longer initiation range btw, if there's a Slark constantly killing you or smth

Hit r on the ground and then immediately backpack the aghs, if you get the aghs in the backpack before the actual golems spawn but after the spell has begun to cast they should spawn with full health

your wrong about the shadow amulet, rest is good though. What are the chances if Slark jumps backlines to find the shadow amulet'd warlock that 1. he has dust and 2. he can close the gap with upheaval slow on him and being sat directly in the middle of the full enemy team. there's a few supports like Nyx that might be behind enemy lines to reveal but Nyx can also just walk into upheaval and cancel it that way so he's not really worth considering, in fact the only other backline jumping support that comes to mind is clock and if you amulet before they even get a chance to see where you started he wont know where to hook shot

You missed the mention for Nyx assasin as a counter, he just enters the upheaval, or has chains on, then actives spiked carapace and you are stunned, loosing the upheaval. Also, if he catches you out of position, his burst combo means you are pretty much dead everytime. Really hate playing against him

my item build is this one: mana boots + midas + shard then refresher and aeon. refresher + aeon saves lives, also makes enemies waist time trying to kill me while i cast spells. (also midas gets refreshed so i am supper rich and can get scepter too.) i have most damage dealt every freaking game.
