Infinite is the group that introduced knife like synchronized choreo in kpop now many groups like seventeen, verivery ,golden child etc are known for perfect synchronized dancing
@milindawilson91752 жыл бұрын
Infinite is known for being one of the first groups to focus on making their choreography hyper synchronized and they have been coined with the phrase "knife-like synchronization." You noticed their sharp dance moves because that is what they are known for. Infinite -- along with SHINee -- is one of the groups that is credited with changing the focus of dancing within the Kpop industry. If it wasn't for SHINee and Infinite, upping the game and showing everyone that it was possible to have sharp synchronized dance moves while singing live and be able to pull it off flawlessly, the industry would probably be a lot different today. Not only is Infinite known for their dancing, but they are also a vocal powerhouse group that, like SHINee, sings live while dancing these intense choreos. Infinite is also known for their unique sound and style and how most of their songs include rock and/or brass and classical string instruments as part of their sound. It is said that you can tell it's an Infinite song just by the sound and style of the song within the first few seconds because Infinite songs are different than all other Kpop songs. There is always an element of the sound of their songs that makes them stand out. Infinite was a Woollim Entertainment group that debuted in 2010 -- 2 years after SHINee -- so they have been in the industry for more than 11 years now. As you saw, they were originally a 7 member group. (They now have 6 members. However, 4 out of the 6 remaining members have since left Woollim and they are all currently pursuing solo activities. But they haven't officially disbanded as a group.) The rapper/dancer who I think stood out to you is Hoya and he was the main dancer, lead rapper and vocalist of Infinite. (There are two rappers: The main rapper is DongWoo.) Hoya probably stands out because he is known as one of the best dancers in the industry. He left Infinite in 2017, and now he's a solo artist. You should check out his song "Angel" and his dance practice video to really see why he is one of the best in the industry. He is also an actor -- one of his most famous roles is in the drama Reply 1997. Nam Woohyun is a main vocalist and the one that usually has the powerful vocals in Infinite's songs. He is also an actor. Woohyun is good friends with SHINee's Key and together they formed the industry's very first project group that had members from different companies, called Toheart in 2014. (Toheart has a couple of MVs and a mini album.) "Be Mine," which came out in 2011, is one of Infinite's most iconic and well known songs. It's one of those songs that all rookies in the Kpop industry learn the choreography to and often perform as part of their rookie showcase. You should check out the regular MV for "The Chaser", which came out in 2012, to see the story that goes with the song. "Bad" came out in 2015. The member who was really pretty in "Bad" is SungJong, who is the maknae. He is known for his delicate features and his unique voice. (He has a super high melodic voice like Jun from Seventeen.) "Back" came out in 2014 as a single. To explain the storyline in the "Back" MV, the girl was playing Sungkyu's (the leader of Infinite and the leader of the group of friends in the MV) little sister. She was kidnapped by a gang to lure the Infinite members to them in order to take revenge on them, for something, we don't know what. In the flashback we see that Sungkyu's little sister has a crush on L and she tries to dress up and look mature, kind of like a schoolgirl crush. L thinks she is cute like a little sister. She wants him to think of her as more than just the little sister of his friend, but she is too young for him. However, like the tight-knit group that they are, all the members of Infinite are very loyal and they all look out for the girl like she is all of their little sisters, so when she is in danger they all jump in to try and rescue her. The girl is in love with L, so that is why you see her act extra upset when she sees him getting hurt and why she tries to run to him, etc. At the end, we see the group jump in to action with their last ounce of fight they have left in order to avenge L being attacked. We just have to assume that they overtake the gang and rescue the girl. The storyline in "Back" is thought to be loosely connected to Infinite's "The Eye" MV. One thing you will also probably start to notice about Infinite's MVs, is they often are open ended and most of the time they end on a cliffhanger. L (Kim Myungsoo) is most often the lead character in Infinite's story-based MVs because he is one of the top Idol actors who has been in numerous K-dramas and movies. L is really good at showing emotion and immersing himself into every role he plays to make you believe his every emotion is exactly how he really feels and everything that happens to him is real. He is one of my favorite K-drama actors. L's personality on and off screen is very unique. He is very quiet, cute and shy -- he is one of those silent brooding types that you never know what he is thinking because he often keeps to himself, but he is also extremely manly and tough and you can tell that he would protect the people that matter to him with his life.

The groups of SHINee, Beast, and Infinite were nicknamed "SHI-BE-IN" by knetz back in the 2nd gen. They were famous for being great solid groups, especially when it comes to dance and synchronization (and no slouches with vocals either!). They were a popular, well-loved trifecta at the time, sort of seen as untouchable.

I also really like their song "The Eye", sorta bc it was my first comeback with them. Key collaborated with his bff Woohyun to make Toheart. For other good Infinite songs, Some of my favorites include: BTD (Before the Dawn) Paradise Last Romeo The Eye Tell Me They all do have solo songs, either released on Infinite albums or OSTs. But I think only Sungkyu, Woohyun (both Main Vocalists of the group), and Hoya have made official solo debuts. Sungkyu is actually having a comeback tomorrow with "Savior". Hoya officially left the group in 2017 when their contract initially expired, he goes by "Lee Howon" now. The other 6 members did initially all renew their contracts but only released "Tell Me" as a group before they started entering the military, that was the last official comeback. They did release "Clocks" in 2019 with 5 members but it was more of a special release. Since then, all members except Woohyun have left Woolim (their original company) but have emphasized that they're still part of the group and most of them did get together for a Chuseok special they filmed at the end of last year. At the moment, they all seem to be busy doing their own solo projects but again, have said they have plans to release music as a group.

Infinite was the first non big 3 to challenge YG, SM, and JYP. The Chaser also gets included a lot in top songs of the decade and was named the best K-Pop song of 2012 by Billboard. Woohyun is considered a top vocalist in the industry and Sungkyu's vocals are also huge (one of my favorite singers). Getting an Infinite concert ticket in Korea when they were active as a full group was harder than BTS. Their style is distinct because Woolim's in-house producers created their sound and during their early years they kept English to a minimum so their popularity was even more impressive. Sadly, and for legal reasons 'supposedly', the big 3 did not appreciate the challenge to their reign... SM got their hands on Woollim and Infinite magically stopped being a threat...

Best kpop group ever !!! You should see their live performances, they don't even use backtrack most of the time and they're good like super good. They're also hella funny really don't care about their idol image. Also the Chaser was chosen as the best kpop song of all time by a bunch of experts, and it was super super famous in Korea, Infinite are still super popular there. They were the first successful group from a small agency. Between 2011 and 2014 they were the number one boygroup in Korea in my opinion. They were also the first kpop to really be praised for their synchronization and they have the title of "best synchronized group". Back then people used to say that if you wanted live vocals with hard choreography it was either Infinite or Shinee (both groups are super close, a bit less nowadays I think because a lot happened between SM and Woolim aka Infinite agency but yeah). Infinite are incredibly talented, the goal of their producer was to have a group like TVXQ meaning the rappers could be main vocalist everywhere else. They had a rough start and were almost disbanded by lack of success but with Be Mine they became a sensation in Korea. I would recommend their songs "The eye" and "Paradise" and some B side tracks from their albums because they can sing and their duo of main vocalist Woohyun and Sunggyu are some of the best idol singers in Korea and their voices together is heaven. Also I do have to add they have a nickname for their music "obsessive-dol" meaning their songs are often about a pretty obsessive and passionate love lol it's a joke obviously but it kinda fit their concept haha

Also if you wanna listen to something lighter and more cheerful, Nothing's Over is such a great song. As you liked Be Mine, I also recommend Paradise that has that same kinda retro vibe. Also, last but not least, you should definitely check the leader Kim Sungkyu's solo music ! Especially his "27" mini album that was produced by the rock band Nell's singer Kim Jongwan, it's SO good !!!! The MV for the title song Kontrol is really poetic and metaphorical and it is said that it was made in memory of an Infinite fan who passed away in the Sewol ferry's tragedy. I do also recommend that you check some of their live performances as Infinite has always been renowned for only singing live and their vocals are just flawless ❤️

Infinite is one of the few groups where I just like all of their title tracks. I think you'll love Destiny and The Eye, and you'll probably really enjoy Paradise and Before the Dawn. She's Back and Nothing's Over are also some great early Infinite songs - they just make really good music. When Woolim Entertainment created Infinite they had only two other artists signed - Epik High (a rap-trio who make really dope music) and Nell (a rock band) and their influence can easily be heard in Infinites music. Especially when it comes to the leader Sunggyu, he originally joined Woolim because he was a fan of Nell, and the way he sings is really similar to how Nell's singer Kim Jong Wan sings. Nell has also written multiple songs for Sunggyu's solo career. Infinite were the first group which were known for their synchronized dancing - they had a similar reputation like seventeen has today. I'm so glad you like them!

Wow this takes me back! I was living in Korea when Be Mine came out and I would have their album on repeat during my long work commute. Over The Top is still one of my all time fave K-pop albums!

Oh my goodness Infinite! They are one of the two boy groups I miss the most (the other being VIXX). I am so happy to see you react to them. I wanted to mention, that Hoya (the dancer/rapper you noticed) was on a dance competition show called Hit the stage. Other participants included: Taemin, Shownu, Ten, Momo, and many others. I'd highly recommend checking it out on your free time. It was quite fun!

Just finished Be Mine part and I just wanna say I AM SO HAPPY Austin is finally meeting INFINITE!!! And good timing, because leader Sunggyu (Kim Sung Kyu) is releasing his next solo mini album, Savior, tomorrow. (INFINITE is my favorite kpop group and Gyu is my favorite soloist in music period, although I may be speaking from a place of extreme bias.)
@zammich36492 жыл бұрын
Just finished everything. I'm so glad you enjoyed what INFINITE does!!! Yessss they do ALL the overdramatics with their songs. If you react to them again, I have 4 more recommendations based on what you've commented on liking and also one song to show you their rare light-hearted side (and more of their vocals): BTD (Before the Dawn) Paradise She's Back Last Romeo Sadly, INFINITE doesn't have that many ballads with MVs. Most are relegated their album tracks, Japanese content, or solo content, although they still do a lot of work showing off their vocals (including the two rapper/dancers, Hoya and Dongwoo)

What a surprise!! Nowadays reactors are not interested in INFINITE, so I'm so glad you've checked them out 😭 They are one of my favorite groups! The music is just phenomenal, their story is touching and their achievements and "firsts" in kpop are impressive ❤️ Definitely one of those "iconic kpop groups that everyone should know". I'm soooo happy that you quickly noticed that distinctive "INFINITE style" in the music! They are one of those groups that when you hear the song, you know it's INFINITE 😁 I'm also happy that you like their older sound, because not everyone likes it, and now I'm more excited for maybe your future reactions. I hope you'll like their music, cause musically (and vocally) INFINITE is one of my absolute favorites! I can ramble for hours about them, so I will shut up now haha 😅

i think you‘d enjoy beast/highlight? a beast must is fiction & my personal favorite highlight song is not the end :) edit: they were called beast initially, but after leaving cube & losing some members they changed it to highlight - after their last beast album. they now have 4 members that co-own their own label :) edit 2 lmao: key also has a perfomance with highlight member gikwang & ex ze:a‘s kwanghee (don‘t think it‘s intense, it‘s micky mouse concept lmao - they recently talked about it on amazing saturday, when some highlight members were guests on the show. plus: i also have a crush on L🤝 & have you checked out 2PM yet? i think my house& a.d.t.o.y is something you shouldn‘t miss out on (especially performed live- they even have a recent version of it)

Was actually about to comment this! My 2nd gen ult is beast/highlight.. and they are up their with shinee and infinite when it comes to live performances. I think sir austin would really appreciate yoseob and his singing prowess.

OH MY GOD!!! Can't believe you actually react to my INFINITE boys 😭😭😭 I knew you will like The Chaser so much because I was practically obsessed with it even until now 😂 Please react more to their other releases: 1. Last Romeo 2. Tell Me 3. Clock 4. Destiny 5. Come Back Again

*Recommendations divided into types/concepts* (have them in choronological order for each category): *Iconic, old school sound bops:* Come Back Again, Paradise, Man In Love, Crazy [Unit Song], Up To You *Edgynite* (they could also belong in the previous category, but for concept's sake): Before the Dawn, Destiny, Last Romeo, The Eye *Soft / Wholesome / Fun:* She's Back, Heartthrob [Unit Song], Pretty [Unit Song], That Summer (Second Story) *Sentimental:* Tell Me, Clock 2 of Woohyun's solos I believe you'll enjoy: Hold On Me & Calm and Passion. Sungkyu's (and Woohyun's) solo discography is also great if you're looking for ballads. Really happy to see you reacting to them, considering they're no longer relevant on KZbin and newer fans sleep on their legendary status. They solidified themselves in the industry despite not being under the big 3 companies. Well known for their live singing and their polished dancing, they served a concept and a sound that so many other groups have been trying to imitate ever since. They also had elements of that 70s/80s disco/funk sound that became popular in 2020 and onwards like you noticed. Hoya was the one you pointed out dancing in the front and popping off, he competed and coached on dance shows like Hit the Stage & Dancing High and has acted in dramas as well. He decided to go solo in 2017 after not renewing his conctract.

Ahhh I must comment! Although I’m just a casual fan, I will fight for Infinite to be remembered as one of Kpop royalty. They are true blue kpop to the core. I’ve been listening to Kpop close to 2 decades now and I will rank The Chaser as one my top 3 Kpop songs of ALL time, even above songs from my favs lol. There are many articles about this one song and they are legit. The Chaser is just THAT song. Also, I think you should check out more songs produced by Sweetune. They produced most of the songs here.

OMG vocal legendsss , they are my fav 2nd gen group just because of how timeless their songs are for me, they released quality every single time 🤍

I'm so happy you're discovering Infinite!! I didn't get into K-Pop when they were active, but I listened through their discography and it's SO GOOD. And if anyone asked me what the best K-Pop song of all time is, I'd answer "The Chaser", and I'm not alone in that opinion. That song is like fine wine; I give my full attention to it when I savor it and it only gets better with age.
@letstalkk-pop47552 жыл бұрын
Yes! INFINITE! Definitely one of the best Kpop groups out there 👌 Also, I just want to say that The Chaser is one of the best songs out there. The synths, the guitars, the vocal layerings, that tsunami-like chorus, the rapping, the key change… and my favorite part of the song is when they slowed down during the 2nd verse before delivering the second chorus. Truly epic!

oh my god i listened to back SO much when it came out, that was such an iconic comeback. that entire album is gold. other iconic songs from them imo would be destiny, nothing's over, paradise and man in love (all of those have very versatile sounds, paradise is more of a ballad but it's the song that i first heard from them). the eye is also really good. they are still together, but hoya (the dancer you noticed in bad) left the group in 2017. he's had some solo stuff afterwards, and i believe he's still friends with the group. him and dongwoo (the deep voiced rapper) are really close and they had a sub unit together called infinite h. they also have another sub unit called infinite f, but unfortunately they don't have that many songs. also for other groups, i think you would really enjoy boyfriend's music. they are also an iconic 2nd gen group. songs i recommend are i yah, janus (every kpop fan needs to hear this song tbh it's legendary), obsession and bounce. i think they now go by the name BF

Dancer Hoya was one of my faves on Hit the Stage! His friendship with Bigstar's Feeldog on that show was just the cutest. Total side note: for rock vibes, I think you'd love Woodz! He also has a song called Chaser and no lie it was one of my fave songs last year. Would love to see you check out his stuff.

i try to avoid commenting multiple times on a video but i also want to say, if you want to hear a ballad from Infinite, i have to recommend "Diamond". I usually much prefer upbeat songs to slower songs/ballads but that song makes me ascend every time I hear it.

Ah, INFINITE. If you were a Kpop-Fan back in the heights of the 2nd Gen Era (circa 2009-2013?) there was the holy trinity of boy groups: SHINee, B2ST (Highlight these days) and INFINITE. So naturally, though I am a Shawol first and foremost, I casually stanned these guys too. Great talent in that group, kind of sad they don't do group stuff anymore (not sure if they officially disbanded, someone else can probably tell you, but it's been ages since they've released music together). That's probbably also why only few people request them... many new Kpop-Fans unfortunately don't even know about them. But we OGs still here :D EDIT: Wait, you never checked out B2ST/Beast either? Man, someone needs to rec you the true 2nd gen gems like pronto. So I'll do it: Do more INFINITE, you won't regret it, but also B2ST (not sure if they would be up your alley, but just for the history lesson it's already worth it).
