Its rare to find an artist that...every single time you hear one of their songs--brings you back to a time, a place or calls up a memory or an emotion as strong the thousandth time you hear it-exactly like it was the first time. Elton, Cheers mate! You have that gift!

I wondered how it would feel to hear this song when I had reached '60 years on'. I finished my 60th year yesterday and have to say the feeling is totally different that I had anticipated it would be when first I head this song 42 years ago. As wonderous, thrilling and totally overwhelming youth was, I have as much, or more, passion for life as ever and 'no (less) wish to be living 60 years on' than at any point in my life - life is sweet, precious - surrender none of it freely. A true classic.

This arrangement of "60 Years On" is in between the studio version and the "11-17-70" version -- which is the definitive version for me. Thanks for the upload!

It's an odd contrast -- Elton was celebrating his 60th, but this isn't a song of celebration --- quite the opposite.
