I couldn't agree more, Elton John is an absolute master in his field. This particular song, although not one of his greatest known hits, it is my favorite. I probably count for half of the total hits on this page. When I listen to it, it builds up such an emotion and breaks down all the barriers holding me back in life. I've never been a massive fan, but, over the years, for me he's come out with many gems and this, for me, is one of those..great chord progressions and lovely use of the piano, both in the solo and at the end. And I'm blown away by the lines.."When stars collide, like you and I, no shadows block the sun."..not sure I've ever really "been there," but I can still appreciate the sentiment..magic stuff..and probably written, or picked, with David in mind! :O)

I first heard this song back in 93', at a time when I met this girl who had MS, she complained how the young guys were only interested in her for one thingas she was blonde and pretty but she had difficulty walking and had to use crutches. I was there and hoped I could be her knight in shining armor as I cared for her and her disability, she rejected my caring nature and instead went back to being abused.Whenever I hear this song on the radio my mind goes back to the"one" I really wanted to help

I've seen this video about 1000 times and it still makes me cry. Just to see Elton perform my favorite song of his like this is just so beautiful. I've been a fan of him since I was 5. At 16, I still love him! This song is powerful enough to bring anyone together, no matter how much they may hate each other. One dance to this and they will fall in love.
