This took us by surprise in many ways. For starters, we thought it would be a water ride of some sort or an expansion for Cedar Point Shores. Second, we thought it would go where Snake River Falls, Shoot The Rapids, and Dinosaurs Alive used to sit. Finally, as you stated, we thought it was going to Six Flags Mexico. But I'm okay with the latter as I believe that park needs a launch coaster more.

I would disagree on the confidence in Top Thrill. I have heard they have great confidence for next year because they have identified permanent fixes on the trains. The issue this year is that they insisted on permanent fixes and did not want to reopen with band aids. I expect TT2 will open with the season and be pretty reliable next year. The issue is not the ride system, it is the trains - which were a new design. They also may need to add some track reinforcement on the top hat, but the primary work is dampening vibration on the train and dampening vibration caused by the train. They have engineered solutions but it takes time for proper manufacture and testing. From what I understand, they saw the opportunity to add another ride that would fit in a space that they had planned to use in the future and see this new ride as an apology to park goers. When the Vekoma came available, Cedar Point was targeted because they had the space, the prep was easy, and bringing another coaster in could help smooth over bad feelings from 2024. I also have heard another coaster will be coming in 2026 - a water coaster to replace Snake River Falls. It will be built by Mack - and they may target being taller than Divertical. Could be 175 feet with an elevator track lift like Mack has used on other models.

He is bitter that Intamin didn't work on the ride so he needs to be as negative as he can over TT2 and I wouldn't be surprised if that is why Cedar Point striked him for non-stop complaining in his videos. I totally agree that TT2 will run great next year and that this new ride had such an easy area to work with unlike Vortex's plot or another park.

@@chadmorris946 Yeah. they did not go with Intamin for a reason. For one, I have heard they found evidence of design flaws BY Intamin that contributed to the failure that caused injury on Dragster. They maintained it to the specifications outlined by Intamin, but they had a failure because the parts did not perform to their specs. Intamin made the parts and refused to be accountable - and THEN they changed the maintenance schedule for Kingda Ka and updated the part design. This made Cedar Fair angry - because Intamin did not want to share in any of the liability. Cedar Point did not ask them to take all of the heat - but they expected them to take some of it. I have heard little good about Intamin lately. I have heard they have been a pain for Universal and have also pulled the "it's not our fault" card on Hagrid's and Velocicoaster for issues relating to reliability. I have been told that Universal will not work with them again in the near future after their two coaster orders are completed - and that Intamin is a major reason for the delay on the drift coaster at Hollywood. I also heard Sea World parks had bad experiences with them for their family coasters in San Diego and Williamsburg. They spotted those issues early and that is why they went with new B&M models in Tampa and Orlando. They find B&M much more pleasant to work with and see that B&M take responsibility. That is also what Cedar Point has found with Zamperla. Yes, the situation is not good but Zamperla has been 100% cooperative and understands this is part of their contract. Intamin would already be charging them more money for their mess up if they were on this project. These are new trains and this project is giving Zamperla a lot of knowledge and experience to grow their coaster lineup. Cedar Fair/Six Flags understands that Zamperla wants to expand and get better here - and they want to encourage that. They want more manufacturers to choose from and want to encourage others to be bold. They know B&M won't do that - but that is okay as B&M is about as reliable as you can get. However, they want MORE manufacturers that are willing to push the boundaries. Their issues with RMC and Intamin all have to do with accountability. RMC WAS good, but new ownership has not been as good in the eyes of many parks - and Intamin really started to not want to be accountable when they made mistakes on Velocicoaster and Hagrid's and did not want to eat the cost - Universal paid tens of millions for Intamin's design mistakes. The new Six Flags cannot afford this, so they just cannot trust Intamin and Intamin does not want to be accountable. Zamperla is working hard on this with Cedar Point. They have their solutions that will be done in the offseason. They will get a new coaster and they will prep for another one in 2026. While the new Six Flags does want to improve the experience at all of their parks, Cedar Point is their crown jewel and they know it. They feel it can be the gateway into many of their other parks as it is the one that has international renown.

and I don't blame CP at all for not opening TT2 with band-aids, using a band-aid is a bad idea because if that band-aid would come off it could be a total nightmare for CP. All of these people complaining about it not opening and such... think about it people.. your on the ride and something catastrophically fails and you get injured or worse.. What would you prefer a SAFE coaster or a Semi-safe coaster? Me Im all for the SAFE coaster.

Looks like Siren’s Curse is now of the only 3 scrapped projects SF had purchased and called it a “last minute decision”. We saw this last year for both Flash and GA Surfer that were originally supposed to open this year but got pushed back to 2025

Six Flags in full effect. Not creative. This ride is being built elsewhere. Just like the Dive coaster isn't that exciting. Cedar Point is the coaster capital...going forward it needs amazing rides, not schticky rides. Smiler, ride to happiness, an axis coaster, or an authentic modern woodie coaster...something like these would be more intersesting given their limited amount of space. Add something like these for people that may not make it to every park, but they come to cedar point because they know they have the best and most unique collection. Get rid of corkscrew and rougarou, even the dive coaster there is nothing charming/unique about them. Cedar Point should be the most standout park in the world.

Much needed for that barren plot and although it was shoehorned into the park, it definitely adds a much need variety. I like the idea of moving the stage to where scambler/matterhorn used to be because that spot is nothing right now and all of the stage performers take a break over there anyway so it will fit in nicely.

Considering this is a “last minute” decision, I think this is CP benefiting from Six Flags needing a place to build a purchased coaster that couldn’t go to Mexico. My guess is Kings Island is still going to follow whatever plan Cedar Fair had for them pre merger

They already have the land getting prepped. I could see the work a few weeks ago. The track is already built and they will lay the new road once the season completely finishes. My guess is 2026 will be a record breaking water coaster where Snake River Falls is.

They put in MF in 1 offseason in 99-2000 & TT in 02-03 offseason and many smaller coasters since.By February they will be finishing & working on station & final prep give or take a few weeks depending on how the weather is going at the point.Should see concrete being poured soon for the supports & cranes coming in the day after Closing Day on Nov 2 maybe sooner if they don’t have to disrupt the traffic on the peninsula road b4 the season ends when they redo the roads layout.

Kings island doesnt need anything new for awhile they have a bunch already opened mystic timbers not too long ago plus Orion isnt that old.....they still have Diamondback flight of fear. My suggestion would be to take out the Racer....its outdated....even a revamped wooden one by Rmc would be great. I miss vortex ..... a throw back to vortex would be great

I am Jazzed for this ride, it looks amazing! With Hopefully TT2 AND Sirens Curse opening next year the lines for the other rides should be a little less which is good for the first time coaster fans coming to CP. My 2 concerns are: 1. With that tunnel, we all know CP floods when the weather gets nasty..people have said "you cant build and underground tunnel due to the water-table". 2. CP got lucky this past winter with it being a very light winter to get TT2 ready (ready enough for media day and 1 week of operation at least), what if it isn't? We know how nasty winters can be on the lake. Is there any data on how quick these vekoma Tilts can get built?

You did It Brandon! Your prediction was right and I had a feeling you were on to something about this one. Very interesting story, who would ever thought Cedar Point would be taking coasters from Six Flags Mexico😮… I do think this is to plan to hypnotize the public to forget Top Thrill 2 which I think will NEVER open. I don’t think this will stop any future coaster plans than CP already have in works since this may be a damage control project. This also shows CP is Top priority over all Six Flags parks because there are other parks this ride could have been shipped to or could have waited another year to get permitted approval for Mexico. My only disappoint is the colors. But I understand considering it was not painted with Cedar Point in mind.

Update: The new coaster was intended for Six Flags Mexico. They ran into environmental issues when seeking approval to build the coaster. This coaster was originally going to have a Harley Quinn theme. So this now makes Cedar Point the third intended destination for the ride since the coaster was in turn ORIGINALLY meant for Energylandia.

I think thar Cedar Point is quietly planning to remove either Iron Dragon or Corkscrew and they are using this new coaster as a replacement to allow themselves time to design something new

Nah - rumor is Intamin got the first shot at a proposal for TT2. Backwards launch first at 200’ then over the top hat into an extended layout into the ID plot. CP said no - they didn’t want to get rid of ID. Makes sense though due to a lack of many other family coasters. Plus it’s a smoother and more graceful ride than CCMR, which I would see as the next candidate for removal due to low ridership, not being a great ride, and the massive plot of land it takes up. Now, they are close enough to take back the most coaster record too, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a water coaster next year in the SRF plot and that gets them to 20 since they consider pipe scream a coaster. Have to watch out for Energylandia but they could even alternate additions between CP and MM touting the new record everytime.

I didn't have a tilt coaster at Cedar Point in 2025 on my Bingo card. I think it is a great move though and here is why. First of all if TT2 has issues then it is a nice backup plan. Second if TT2 opens it would probably make the lines for both rides shorter. Third and most interesting is that it shows Six Flags trusts Vakoma enough that they are willing to give them a chance with a major ride at the flagship park. If it works out we could see more Vakomas popping up at Six Flags in the future.

Definitely going there next year now. I had my trip booked for July 2025 from 🇬🇧 to ride TT2, but had to cancel it. Cost me around £300 to, but pointless going without that ride being open. It’s going to be a last minute booking next time!

Well, you predicted something coming to this area quite a while ago, but I'm still questioning the decision of putting a tilt next to a dive. I believe there are other SF/CF parks that would have been a better fit for this. All said, it will be a good addition to the park and can we really be upset for a new coaster with that much airtime? I'm happy to see this get built within a decent drive for me, so I don't have to travel all the way to Austin Texas :)

My thing is yes this will be a very fun ride and the tilt element will be the star of the show. However am I the only one disappointed this is coming to cedar point? Personally if they were planning for this land to add a new coaster I believe they should’ve taken this perfect opportunity and added a B&M flyer here. It’s always been a fever dream of sorts to get a flying coaster at cedar point, and with this plot of land they could’ve easily had the layout go over the perimeter road and hang above Lake Erie for sections. Another six flags park would 100% have benefited from this much more than cedar point. I am definitely looking forward to this ride though don’t get me wrong.

It's a great "good will" play for the marketing team. They broke an old coaster in 2024 so have something shiny in 2025.

It'll be cool. I hate to complain about any ride announcement but I still hope that they can add in some kind of water based attraction at some point given the recent closure. But this will be good. Unexpected and maybe odd, but good.

The capacity thing isn’t an issue as with 24 passengers trains with a Minute and a half dispatch rate that would be about 960 people per hour and that’s about maverick’s capacity so it won’t be terrible but with 2 new coasters people will be spread out

I have a few things I wish it was a Mack spinner but I honestly think that’s gonna go in the back of the park in a expansion coming in the 2028 season or maybe sooner who knows this was a weird placement and might not exactly reset that coaster clock for them
