After over ten years, never thought I'd come across my high school friends' song with almost a third a million views...I'll have to let them know, even though they've gone their separate ways, that people are still jamming out to this masterpiece all these years later. The album was SPORE 1. Drift 2. Cloudbreak 3. Drifting and Floating 4. Music Box 5. Propoganda and fiinally DRONE

Why don't many people enjoy the clean part? I think it's what makes this track & the drum solo is perfect. They don't follow the herd with their sound either. Great band !

Guys, guys... i'll break it down for you. The clean vocals part represent a drone where a conscience was suddenly born! He's THINKING for the first time! Hence the vocals being dronish! These are his first thoughts and this is why the song is freaking genius!
@trentstone21652 жыл бұрын
Actually the song is about a dystopian future in which we all “plug” into a different reality. This guy creates a virus to upload into the system that supposed to be a drug. The clean vocals are when he uploads into himself and he experiences the euphoria and then it goes bad and he realizes what a horrible mistake he made.

@@trentstone2165 yup, this one seems more reasonable. The clean part describes some sort of high, and the common aftermath ("Euphoria drifts to dread")

No, the piece is an extension of a song off our EP. The song Drift describes a scenario in which technology has been integrated into humans. Food is no longer necessary as we derive energy from electricity. Drift depicts a pivotal point in this timeline where a disease breaks out that is transmitted via the use of this technology. Drone is from the first person perspective of the man who created the virus, Drift. He subsequently gets infected and experiences the pleasure and downfall of Drift.

I was looking at the comments and I saw your guys' comment saying your bands is similar and I should listen to it. I thought," sure, this would be another amateur metal band". But after listening to this, I was like woah, mindblowing. You guys are so creative and so pro, just like Periphery, Tesseract, and Meshuggah. You guys should get sign by a record label! And being in a band myself I completely understand how one may not understand lyrics as they are written, because that person is not in the mindset and idea of the one writing them.
