Wanted to come back to comment thanks for this! I've been struggling with XP since about 92 or so, I don't die super often, but I do die occasionally and it has realyl slowed me down, this is helping me cruise control up!

I run abyss with Sacred Grove, because it's 2 minutes for guaranteed sellable resource + chance for quick sacred hit. I also keep 2 of the 3 Necropolis mods on for coffin fodder. Prices on those things are ridiculous and it's instant, no grind like waiting for expedition setup. To top it off I make sure I have a point or 3 in scarabs around the place for free sales. It's so nice to have another 2 atlas trees now so we can then go dedicate on something else without a full respec.

if you add allflames with abyss monster to all the packs, im pretty sure the xp buff from the tree and shrine scarab work for all the mobs in map...

Great video! Abyss farmer here. Abyss has been a great exp source for a while now. If the objective is only exp and you are running the maps white or blue, i wouldn't run the edifice scarab at all. As you said it adds a lot of time for looting, and you actually end up using up portals just to loot thing, when i do it in a set up for currency i usually haul a 3 or 4 inventory of scarabs, jewels, raw currency and few other random things. And that takes a while, on top of opening the hoardes which imo you should since they have pretty good drops, even without the corrupt jewels node.

@@sirgog This was fixed, but is still op with just the 30% per regular shrine. It is way better than pre-nerf 5-ways still.

Hey there! Gotta say, your content has really helped me out a ton! I’m starting up this strat to get from 99 to 100 today. I was just wondering if the allflames that spawn abyss monsters are affected by the atlas node that gives 50% more xp? I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere and I have a ton of the allflames on hand. Thanks again for all you do for the community!

loving this strat, finally something that suits me, cheap to run and is neither very hard or complicated. its good for drops too since youre getting such a huge amount of raw drops from all these millions of mobs. im gonna start alching and rolling the maps abit because of the loot

Yeah if you can handle the 8 mod maps the Carto Scarab of Corruption (maybe run on a different Atlas) will get you heaps of prerolled maps. Some of course you won't be able to do

another good xp strat i found was just using 4 shrine scarabs and taking the shrine nodes and niko nodes for borrowed power. was smooth sailing even just getting started.

I would also consider the abyss allflames. Usually global abyss jewel drops also have a chance to become 6 mod corrupted.

I used to like pairing abyss and beyond with the Beyond xp node but i don't see it anymore

I have been using shrines for exp. The scarabs are also cheap and i think its a lot safer than abyss. Abyss is better if your character is stronger

Anyone have any data on how this compares to Beyond + Deli + Legion + Breach + Domination using the 30% xp scarab, 2x breach scarabs, and 1x domination?

Note the XP scarab was nerfed (it's still great). This will be a more chill alternative, the Domination + Beyond approach will outperform it in raw XP. You could hybridize them if you wanted (Abyss + Beyond + Shrines atlas, Abyss on map device, 2 75% abyss monster scarabs, 1 +2 shrine scarab, 1 30% XP while shrined scarab).

I do abysses and I understand why people don't like them the soul eater meme bricking your map is still very much alive too. Also for abyss jewels I would recommend picking the Spire +1 to level to guarantee they drop 84+ since they can roll chaos T1

Soul Eater has been nerfed a lot. It's still impactful when mobs get it, but seldom deadly. Except burial chambers map boss, she's rough still.

How does the xp from this strategy compare with running 5-ways, Coward's Trial or other established xp grinds, especially as you approach max level? Are the other methods still better or is this competitive with them?

Five ways will eclipse it as will flawless breachstones. This is the budget alternative. It's competitive with the cheaper XP farms though - breaches that aren't upgraded, Coward's, Nashta heist speed runs.

how about droping breach (or other nodes), replace it with shrine-nodes and use one teaching-scarab (+map-device shrines)?

Yeah at the time I recorded this vid that scarab was expensive and impossible to get in bulk so I avoided it. It is amazing

you can also take shrine nodes , the 30% exp buff is per shrine effect including blunderbore and the mini shrines from the gull . and you can get all shrines then open abysses if your build is fast enough for that . (with gull and atlas passives shrine effect is over 1 min long)

Hotfix 4 already changed how the scarab of teachings works with lesser shrines (aka they no longer provide the exp bonus). Fixed a bug where the Domination Scarab of Teachings applied to Lesser Shrines (such as those created by The Gull Unique Helmet), and could be affected by modifiers to Shrine Effect. -GGG on the 30th of march.

Honestly don't think my present one is optimized enough. Just take all Abyss support except the two points for Votive Hoard (useless) and the Abyssal Depths wheel (you can take that if you want to fight liches), and take the 'scarabs are more likely to be uncommon versions' node. Rest can be anything at all.

how about the strat last league where where you farm the yellow cemetery to avoid abyssal depths is that not viable anymore? I hit my first lvl 100 with that last one.

Depths aren't that bad here. You'd rather not have them but it's not a big deal

Don't do ones with tight corridors and doorways. Doesn't need to be wide open like Dunes or Strand, but needs to be at least more open than Crimson Temple.

So i commented that shrines are also good. I tried this strat and i can stay it is better than shrines. i went from level 70 to 87 in 10 maps. the maps ranged from T1 to T10 mostly just me feeling out what i can do. I had 4 deaths (character too squish)

My mana character was uber nerfed from Affliction. The loss of mana gained as ES charms combined with good haunted mods not being usable due to unique slot contention has given me no motivation to play after getting into yellows. It's just a worse grind to have a worse character
