"Would you talk to friends at a party the same way you would talk to co-workers in the office?" "Why am I at a party? And why did I take a job in an office?" Literally my two worst nightmares haha.

I remember doing stuff like this when I was getting diagnosed with ADHD as a 5 year old. That poor woman that screened me, my severe ADHD riddled child self was a menace to society and public infrastructure.

Your voice reminds me so much of someone who used to make ASMR content kind of in the 'early days' but hasn't uploaded in a few years. It's wonderful to listen to.

Fun fact, I have ADHD myself, and I've been using all these videos as a focus aid more than anything. Is that their intended use? No, btu my brain often works backwards. Also thank you for your kind tone and choice of words, it really shows your respect!

Lots of people use my videos for focus, I use ASMR for sleep, focus and things like housework 😆. It’s good for all sorts!

I hope the psychologist doing my upcoming ADHD assessment talks to me like this. The thing I really like about your videos is you don’t do that irritating finger flapping, repeating random words several times along with tu tu tu tu tu.

I like a bit of realism in my videos (that or totally bonkers!), adding in obvious ASMR distracts me when I’m a viewer so I don’t put it in. That’s not to say there’s not a place for it. I hope you get the outcome you are after.

@@SirimiriASMR it’s each to their own I guess, we’re all different. I feel I’m on the verge of a big turning point in life at the moment. I’ve struggled with other people and simple day to day things for almost 50 years with no idea as to why. Then 4 years ago I realised I may have autism and ADHD, became utterly obsessed with researching them both, and it explains every last little bit of everything.

I hear this lots! Sometimes having that diagnosis can make all sorts of things fall into place and you can start to make sense of the world, knowing why it doesn’t make sense in the first place. All my best to you.

Well, I have inattentive type ADHD as I suspected. Happy now I know, just waiting to see my GP and find out how long I’ve got to wait to trial the medication.

I'm glad it was a relief to find out, I hope that medication can really make a difference but if not, remember you are fabulous as you are! All my best wishes for the journey ahead of you.

Would skipping past the preamble before the test begins an immediate sign of ADHD?

Absolutely not

Having to repeatedly rewind the video because I got distracted and stopped paying attention to the video is probably not a great sign for me not having adhd, really need to get that assessment scheduled so I can know for sure.

I had trouble with the light. Instead, I was drawn toward the camera artifact kept popping up around the picture in the shelf in the back.
Lets just say an adult was interested in getting diagnosed, can anyone help recommend what they think I should do? I have insurance but I dont want to be medicated so I dont really care what kind of specialist I talk to for now

I dont think that first question works as a scale question. Because it doesnt actually take into account how much you talk in either situation. Cause as a dishwasher i can barley talk to my coworkers cause they need to be doing other stuff but if im hanging with friends im quite a talker

It is a real diagnostic tool but meant to be taken as part of a suite of tests. It would not be used on its own to give any sort of diagnosis. Hope that helps!
