had the four element version 36ft in the air since 2015 despite buying it in 2009. once you work the flatside you'll never go back to dxing with a vertical as it'll hear stations that wouldn't even register on a vertical

The Bandwidth with the 4 Element is a bit narrower than the 3 but it will cover all the 10m band without any problem whatsoever.. I was actually going to try the 4 element myself but i am hankering for a Quad next, maybe someday i will try it though.

Hello, Great tutorial. I've just bought this, and I'm about ready to construct it. With the elements cut to 27.5 as you have, is it possible to alter the Gamma match to get a SWR lower than 1.5:1 as you have, please? I do most of my operating between 27.400 - 27.600, so I would ideally want my SWR at 1.1:1 at 27.500. Many thanks in advance.

I assembled & put mine up about 1 month ago & it worked very well, but recently the SWR went very high. I failed to waterproof the Gamma match tuning area where the rod goes into the other rod, and I think rain got inside due to recent bad weather. Dear friends, I am radio amateur from Armenia, Yerevan! EK6NK. I have purchased Sirio SY-3 yagi antenna for 11/10 meters in Paris in the shop! We tuned it how it was written in instruction and it worked very well on the floor/ground by using test mast for only 2 meters height. By antenna analyser we got good conditions of antenna data like: 1,11 SWR, 52 ohm impedance, -25.3db returne loss(see attached picture). But after installation on metallic-steel roof we have very bad data, we thought it is height of antenna and we increase it from 2.10 meter from roof to 2.80 meter, but no good changes(see attched picture). Also we have second VHF/UHF antenna on the same mast with vertical polarisation higher from Sirio by 1,5 meters(see attached picture). When we rotating antenna from South to North it working better, but not so good that we prefer. What do you think? What is our mistake? What to do ? Thank you in advance for advices Best regards, 73

It really depends where you want to operate.I use this for 10/11m so decided to sort of widen its bandwidth.Cutting 93mm off the Director,95mm off the driven and 105mm off the Reflector gives these results.1.1 around 27,900/1.5 on 27,500mhz.The Gamma match will only match so much but like i say it really depends where you want to operate.I will say though it is a fantastic antenna if you take your time setting it up.
