Sorry for the "wavy" effect, but it is because of the image stabilizer from youtube. Trust me, the video looks better with that effect than with the unbelievably shaky raw footage! :) The wind conditions this day were bad. So the boat is a lot faster than in this video!

The boat looks like pig slow but probably the best interior on a 35 sailboat in history.

You asked what can be improved..... Go get a Sirius 40DS ... absolutely perfect (So is the 35 DS by the way :)

Hi, haha well, it might be true and I am very much for a 40DS or perhaps 35.But there is Always things to improve. As for as what I can see on the 40 there is somethings I like to add or change or modify.- I wish there were some availabilty to have a retractable bimini roof oer the cockpit to save oneselves a bit from both sun and rain during those times when you want to be outside.- I wishthere were a sort of arch of sorts in the back to put more solar panels, a wind tubine, a cone, antennas etc. Also it can act to be something to hold a dinghy. A problem is to have to pump up a dinghy every time you need one.- I wonder, putting a washing machine in the "man-Cave" does it leave any more space there?- What about generator, watermaker and dive compressor? Where to fit it?- Wish the nav station to be slightly bigger. Only space for 1 radio. Where to put the SSB and Ham radio? I would also like to fit a computer screen on top of the nav station with swing around from the window.- I did see very few outlets of 240v, 12v and USB. Perhaps just not shown in the videos.- What about heat? I am planning to visit both Svalbard, South Orkney and South Shetland. Need to be able to heat the boat at times.- I wish there were some more fridge/freezer for real cruising. Perhaps one of those floor lockerscould be made into a freezer?

@sm6wet Hi! Sorry for not responding, I don’t check up on my youtube so often. In case you haven’t ordered a 40 or a 35 yet, here are my thoughts: It is a great boat, and we do love it. It is the perfect cruiser in my opinion, and if you equip it with a performance keel and mast, it sails really well too. There are of course some things that differ it from the 40, the most important is the size. The 35 is big on the inside, because of the layout, but what you sacrafice is the feeling of a big open space that you get in normal sailboats. This is not too bad, but i have thougt about it some times. It can feel a bit compact. The 40 solves this, it feels bigger and is over all a more roomy boat. For a bigger crew, the 40 is perfect, with lots of room for many people. The 35’s cockpit can feel a bit small from time to time, whereas the 40, with a bigger cockpit and a fixed table is better. Both boats are outstanding, and i have yet to find another company thst offers the same building quality and interior quality like Sirius Werft. They build fantastic boats, and it feels like a big downgrade looking at the interior other sailboats. There is a significant price jump between the two, but i would say the 40 is the best pick. It feels a bit more grown up, the solutions are more refined and it feels roomier. Whatever model you pick, 35 or 40, you are going to be very happy with the choice. Thanks!

@@sm6wet interesting - we are looking at the same issues, I am thinking to ask Torsten to "copy" the hard-bimi from the hanse boats.. kinda. mostly because every circumnavigating boat I see have build out a canvas top to cover the cockpit extensively. Im really wondering where to put my dive-compressor. may have to trade it in for something smaller.. and where do 6 bottles go :-) Sirius DO make a aft arch for solar panels with davits for the dinghy. They have forced air heating, you can heat the boat as hot as you want.. more importantly you can also add AC for hotter areas. Im thinking AC with in-line diesel air heater plugged into the AC line, so that you don't need to run the AC pump to heat. Watermaker goes on the wall in the "man cave" but its sparse with space. I think the space is really the biggest problem, you just can't get that much storage for big items, and 6 berths in a 40feet boat. im going by myself so its little concern as I can use the aft cabin for storage but...
