The best way to get the full sound out of a guitar is to mix it, adding the electronics from the guitar really adds a lot of tone that you otherwise wouldn't hear. The electronics use a pickup instead of a mic so you loose a lot of tone which is why it is also mic'd. Im personally not a big fan of Gibson acoustics but that sounds pretty damn good.
