I don't think I've ever heard a vocalist who's vocals have just progressed so brilliantly. I love his screaming "she said she loved me" and "i just can't take this" in the original, its one of the things that make it a favorite- its so raw and desperate sounding, but now i love how he made these lines the softer parts in this version yet sounds even more guilty! It's such a good song, yet haunting. I just realized a few things from the lyrics. He's being interview by police and is upset. But the first verse says it all. They were walking, I think she broke up with him. They fought per the lyrics. Then he held her so tight "she couldn't scream". Meaning he suffocated her. He loved her, yet is pondering how he did what he did and is asking what he can do or say to make it right. It's a very conflicting and emotional song. Great story telling.
@James-kc6cq4 жыл бұрын
The story it’s based off of is The Preppy Murder which is an actual murder where this guy Robert something left with his friend Jenny after his ex told him to basically screw someone else and in his trial he gave many excuses but in the end he basically just said “Why would I kill her? She was a friend of mine” It’s really interesting you should check it out.

Besides these songs I've been skipping sound pretty good... Maybe I should start listening to the album front to back...
