Here in June of 2024 cause the Killer's debut album came out 20 years ago now. And I am in denial. They forever sound like nostalgia and promise and youth and all good and bad that comes with it. In reflection, that time of my life was hardly great, perfect or better. In fact in some ways it was much worse, I was simply younger and thus "cooler" but societal standards. Yet I was struggling. But artists like them, were a lifeblood and make you appreciate life in and of itself.

Dear Brandon & The Killers, Every time I hear this song and watch the video I’m amazed at how you are consistently able to capture the feelings and emotions that encompass growing up, young love, and the human condition of wanting to be desired. Your music has been at the top of so many lists but still underrated in my opinion. From music video production to amazing songs that energize, make you want to dance, and sink deep into your soul it’s amazing what the Killers have become. I hope you understand how appreciative we all are of music you’ve given us. You’ve captured the heartbeat of the middle class person and shined the spotlight on what is really important. Far be it for me to say but you guys are to this generation what Springsteen was to the 70s and 80’s. No.. hes touched by that part of the past that we all long to keep with us that nostalgia and the hope of the future we all want ... his songs all carry That feeling of what we need to feel but can rarely find its why we love his songs... killers music is like a drive through the desert at night seeing stars with it playing on the radio with your loved one in shotgun... but the realtionship feels like its at the end and your able to accept it... but it wont ever stop hurting you... all that plays is the radio and as the stars shine down you start to find peace in the fact you need to move forward with your life even if the past carrys your pain

Wow I discovered the song and video today only. Love the genuine ambiance and I love that nothing bad happens to the young woman. She's just enjoying and allowing herself an extraordinary night embodied by a pretty rich young boy. And then returns to her under paid cleaning job (which is the real drama) she does to pay for her student loans while waiting for the time life would change and that she could live off her art (music), meet other ppl than her cat and boss and get to live the life of the people she serves all day long.

Completely agree. I remember my years just after college quite well and can relate to this feeling. Every day is just like the day before it, your pay is nothing, your apartment is nothing, you own nothing, you interact with almost no one, and you just wish you could enjoy these moments of your early 20's, your youth, but for so many reasons you just can't. And what's more, you observe people all day long in your job who seem to be living that life that you feel locked out of. And all you want is a shot at the night, a moment, some kind of mysterious.
