A good rule of thumb for people starting out with watercolors, the order of importance in choosing materials is: 1. Paper 2. Brush 3. Paint If you have the opportunity, it's okay to start out with an okay paint, pretty good brush, and the best paper you have access to. Artist paints on flimsy paper will just make you cry

Just tested it, Portuguese is definitely available. Make sure you've turned on subtitles first. That's the button left to the gear icon which for me says [CC]. Then, when you click on the gear icon, you should see "Speed", "Subtitles" and "Quality". Click subtitles, then "Auto-Translation" and scroll down to Portoguese. The list is alphabetical so you will have to scroll a bit. Let me know if this helps :) PS: I wish KZbin would make this feature a little easier to find and advertise is properly

This is a pretty good example of do's and don'ts. I've seen a lot of stylised do's and don'ts which i don't really agree with and a lot of the time i end up liking the 'don'ts' more than the actual do's. These are actual helpful tips more guided to help you use your medium to more effect rather than about style, and that's super helpful. I didn't even know about granulation before this.
@nou2576 жыл бұрын
please make more watercolor mistakes to avoid! i know most of these already but that's because i've been painting for over a month now and learned a lot through my short journey, the other do's and don'ts of watercolors aren't like this, yours is very in depth and unique and very very important to beginners!

This is one of the best "do's and dont's" in water color I've seen. Explaining the outcome of each "Don't" and showing how to test for yourself makes the information far more useful than "just don't do this." Also using tape to create swatches is genius and I'm mad I haven't thought of it. Also the anime laaovan is adorable and I'd love to see a whole series of this. I'd pay good money for that art tutorial series. You're a natural teacher!

Thank you so much! I'm relativly new to watercolours and this helped me a lot. Sadly, I can't really afford different paper or different kind o' watercolours, but at least I'll know now that (at least to some part) it's not me but my material. Personally, I'm not sure what to think of Do's and Don'ts. Often they fail to actually teach something, and especially as a beginner you feel like all they are saying is "Do it pretty, not ugly". And in the process of learing how to draw/finding you style there are a lot of stages, and they all are important. A beginner will draw differently than someone who's been doing art for a long time, and it's completly normal and important that they do. Do's and don'ts often don't acknowledge that. However, yours was pretty good! Probably because you did not talk about how (as in what) to paint, but provided general information about the material, which is important no matter whether you're a beginner or not, and no matter how you express yourself stylistic wise. Again, thank you a lot!
@farahs83416 жыл бұрын
I think it's a super nice way to help others, dictating what to do or not can take away from the creative process. what's a no for one artist can be the biggest do for the next and it's refreshing to see a different approach! I'd still love to know what kind of tape you use. I tried a few and they always ruin my paper upon removal or they won't stick to it as soon as I use water.
