My great-great-grandmother was a chamber maid at the Stadtschloß in the mid-nineteenth century and met her husband, one of the king of Prussia's guards, there. They married and immigrated to America in 1855. At least that's what my grandmother told me.

Puts Buckingham palace in the shade, especially the staircase, it looks very like the Winter Palace. I do hope some or all of these rooms are reconstructed

Wenn doch nur einige der historischen Innenräume rekonstruiert würden. Schade, daß der Weiße Saal von der Kubatur her nicht mehr in den Neubau paßt !!! Für meine Begriffe der schönste aller Säle !!!

Seguramente lo harán en el futuro, la reconstrucción de la estructura del palacio de Berlín , es el primer paso , hay mucho tiempo por delante y el Estado Alemán tiene los recursos para hacerlo.

some of the furniture and art is now in museums. unfortunately, a lot of it was also destroyed 😢

Nicht unbedingt schön oder großartig, aber voller Geschichte, wird es nie möglich sein, den physischen Verlust der deutschen und Weltereignisse, die in jedem seiner Räume stattfanden, zu quantifizieren.
