Two points that needs to be added is that you can charge battery at home, office or outside (like Tata and others) but CNG can be filled only at dedicated pumps with long waiting at present. 2nd point is that Tiago being a small car, the CNG version would have much lesser boot space compared to EV. Then there is the spirited acceleration that one can never expect in CNG vehicles.

Electric vehicles have zero RTO registration fees. Other cars have 9% registration fees on showroom price. So you are saving 80 to 90 thousand rupees of registration fees. Electricity costs is 4 rupees per unit where I live. If Tiago EV goes 8 to 10 km per KWh, then it will cost around 40 to 50 Paisa per km as compared to 6 to 7 km per km for petrol version of Tiago. If you drive Tiago EV for 10 years/ 100000 km , you are likely to save around 6 to 7 lakh rupees over petrol version.

Depreciation of battery should be considered in calculation,, Resell value should be considered,, EV would be best for daily General purpose use, as a secondary car, if you run in PRE-PLANNED journey with SPECIFIC road and journey is less than 100km/day... other wise, yeh safar ek Suffer ban jayega..

They know this is temporary EV cars, they would go for "charge as you go" concept along with EV cars. This will increase mileage unlike charge once and compromise in the range when travelling.

Its battery is warranted for 8 years to be above 80% of full range. The battery won’t become useless after 8 years, it will still have decent range for the city usage. Moreover people have been using Tesla’s old batteries in homes for solar power storage. In ten years you will have Vehicle to Grid functionality, that is your EV will be able to power your home electricity in case of an emergency, and it will be a place to store energy if you have solar panels on your roof. Buying a Tiago is a no brainer, better to go for the longer range one.

Yes true . But add one important thing. These batteries are made of individual cells and only few cells go bad which can be easily replaced at a reasonable cost . No need to change entire battery. For example after 13 years 10% cells go bad . They can be replaced to make the battery new again . This can be repeated forever so entire battery will never be replaced

On what calculation EV battery will degrade after 2-3 years. There are 2 year old Nexon EVs on the road at present with no sign of battery degradation. Company is giving 8 years battery replacement warranty so should be good for at least that time.

The EV battery is made of individual cells and only few cells go bad which can be easily replaced at a much reasonable cost . No need to change entire battery . So far since 2008 no motor replacement has been reported in normal use.

Your assumption is wrong . 500 kilometers range cars are already available. Most of the time people drive less than that in one stretch . Charger infrastructure is now available and it is increasing day by day. There are 100 of players in the market now who are making chargers

You have you pay all of your money # if electricity price rise ( it's rising from years) # If electric power produced by yourself then it's viable otherwise you are dependent on others for its recharge. # you have limitations if you want to go far. All the time you have to think about that part. Mentally absurd if any emergency besides if you own EV but you can't use. . # No others mechanic only service centre you need to go every time. So bank & car company+ power company have your money. No need to confuse if you have too much money & one more normal car then only EV otherwise Useless only option. .

cost of insurance for EV is higher than petrol car, please incorporate this thing into your analysis. In India most of people (about 85%), purchase their car on EMI basis, so intrest imposed by bank should also be incorporated in your analysis. please mention the total cost of ownership ....

Less moving parts in EV, so maintenance is very low compared to CNG. No oil change required, just brake fluid and transmission oil need changing, you can look at tiger ev maintenance schedule to get a better idea. This results in much cheaper maintenance costs for an EV. Ho[e this helps.

It’s warranted for 8 years to be above 80% of full range. Are you saying in two years after the 8th year the battery will become useless? No it won’t, it will still have decent range for the city usage. Moreover people have been using Tesla’s old batteries in homes for solar power storage. In ten years you will have Vehicle to Grid functionality, that is your EV will be able to power your home electricity in case of an emergency, and it will be a place to store energy if you have solar panels on your roof. Buying a Tiago is a no brainer, better to go for the longer range one.

So no need to worry about buying a new battery after 8 years . As per historical data battery lasts longer than 12 years . Plus car comes with 8 years or 1,60,000 kilometers whichever is earlier. First either drive 1,60,000 kilometers or wait till 8 years . Many cars have done 1,99,000 in foreign countries.
